𝘈 𝘣𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘥𝘺 𝘨𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘳𝘦𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵

Vanaf deze week wordt Monty gekaapt door @jonggewei en @transfocollect. Samen bouwen ze het huis om tot het theatraal Trumpiaans toeristenoord ‘Monty Resort’.

Met hun oord nemen ze afscheid van een oude wereldorde en luiden ze het tijdperk van obscene euforie en chaos in.

Op zaterdag 25 april opent hun all-inclusive getaway.
Om 13:00 begint de dag met een incontinental breakfast. Volgegeten? Schuifel met je volle buik door de verschillende kamers en ontdek op je eigen tempo een ontluikende feverdream.

Hoe eerder je komt, hoe meer je meemaakt.
De climax beleven we collectief om 19 uur.

Reserveer je one-day access ticket (Pay What You Can) en geniet zaterdag ten volle van alle activiteiten.

@jonggewei (Gent) & @transfocollect (Brussel) zijn artistieke platformen waar jongvolwassenen buiten het reguliere circuit hun talent voor podiumkunsten ontdekken.

FEST’ is a temporary autonomous zone.
A place where people question, hijack, play, shout and celebrate.
A place of friction, a space-time fault line, a playground for experimental artistic practices.
Every year, FEST’ infests a different city and weaves connections between artists, audiences and ways of creating, meeting and sharing.
This year Monty is handing over its keys to TransfoCollect (Brussels) and Jong Gewei (Gent) for a two-week takeover. Two collectives with diverse backgrounds, multiple aesthetics and experiences, driven by a joyfully prophetic energy.

Together, they will transform the Monty into a Resort Deluxe.
A theatrical and decadent tourist stay.
A satire on forms of power that mask their violence with smooth surfaces, promises of comfort and exclusivity.
Elite tourism, local gentrification, soft power, bloody riviera: paradisiacal illusions constantly hide hellish realities.
Enough.
Let us proclaim the end of these sad dreams and the advent of joyful nightmares.
Let us search together for the flaws in the system in order to experiment with other forms of beauty, exchange and experience.
By sharing more authentic stories, non-artificial practices and artisanal celebrations, we’ll take control again of our collective imagination.

A theatre as a place of poetic retreat.
Welcome to Monty Resort.

🕐 1pm: Incontinental Lunch, starting point for a free exploration through an upside down world. A mosaic of activities that takes place during the whole day: a performative spa, literary sauna, artists for rent, deceptionists, a disarmament beach… You can wander, linger, disappear and return. The earlier you arrive, the more you will experience. Collective climax around 7pm.

Two tourist buses will depart from Brussels and Ghent at 12pm.

You are also welcome to visit us during the process (15-24 April, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.)
