Fun to be on a big board again and back in some extra rubber @needessentials riding more of a pulled in 8’0 fiji @simonjonesdesigns thanks for the footage @hughvwarner
I’ve been having a lot of fun on this 5’8 @simonjonesdesigns over the second half of the year on the boat. This new shape has evolved from elements of the original blue ‘LBOH’ from a few years ago and the more recent ‘little wing’. With the cut off or rounded nose we were aiming to keep a straighter rail line and somewhat familiar outline to keep a feeling similar to some of the longer lengths I’ve been riding. The last few years I’ve spent mostly on boards in the high 6’ and mid 7’ range but over the years surfing in Indonesia I’ve much preferred riding shorter boards, especially on my backhand. Over the year Simon and I made a few tweaks to this board and most recently on a short trip home we changed the tail shape which I was really excited about. Ufortunately on the rebound back to the boat my board bag, along with a handful of boat parts, gifts and other things, disappeared during transit through Bali never to be seen again.. sooo if anyone does stumble across a fresh little 5’8 or a 7’ triple stringer fiji both with my name on them I’d love to hear where they ended up? 🤷🏼♂️ 🎥 @milo_inglis @needessentials

Woaaah ‘Southern Edge’ is now live and playing over at needessentials!
A huge thank you to everyone who joined us at one of the 50-odd screenings around the world! We couldn’t make it to all of them, but the past couple of months have been a pretty special and busy time on the road catching up with lots of old friends, bringing people together, and hopefully helping raise a bit of awareness and support for the important work being done by @greatsouthernreef and @surfrideraus especially here in Tasmania.
A big thank you as well to all of our friends and families who contributed in so many different ways to help bring this film to life. We definitely couldn’t have done it without you all.
And a special thank you to Emma Lee, Richard Flanagan, Dave ‘Charlie’ Kiely and Scott Bennett for their generosity, time, and for sharing their deep connection to this island with us.
Murray Paterson and the whole band @headlandsoundtrack for another incredible original score, so much depth to the music that captures Tasmanias land and seascapes beautifully. The whole soundtrack is on a playlist over on Spotify as well.
I hope people are able to watch and connect with this film wherever they are in the world. More than anything, I hope it inspires some kind of adventure big or small and serves as a reminder to travel slowly, listen carefully, and move with respect for the people and places we pass through.
