𝗧𝗢𝗠𝗢𝗞𝗜 𝗦𝗔𝗡𝗗𝗘𝗥𝗦 — saksofonista, kompozytor i jeden z najbardziej intrygujących głosów nowej nowojorskiej sceny jazzowej — na 𝗪𝗔𝗥𝗦𝗔𝗪 𝗦𝗨𝗠𝗠𝗘𝗥 𝗝𝗔𝗭𝗭 𝗗𝗔𝗬𝗦 2026

Urodzony w Nowym Jorku, wychowany między kulturą afroamerykańską i japońską, od dziecka zanurzony był w muzyce. Najpierw perkusja i klarnet, potem saksofon podarowany przez ojca — legendarnego Pharoaha Sandersa. To właśnie tenor stał się jego głównym instrumentem i przestrzenią, w której Tomoki buduje własny, intensywny język.

Jego muzyka wymyka się prostym kategoriom: łączy duchowość free jazzu, miejską energię, hip-hopową pulsację, elektroniczne faktury i awangardową wyobraźnię. Sam mówi: “My music is a reflection of my truth, my personality and my imagination”

Po koncertach u boku artystów takich jak m.in. Kassa Overall, Moses Sumney, Ravi Coltrane, Maurice „Mobetta” Brown czy Jack DeJohnette Trio, Tomoki Sanders coraz mocniej zaznacza swoją obecność jako lider — artysta odważny i głęboko współczesny.

Born in New York and raised musically in Japan, Sanders is a formidable talent who mastered percussion and clarinet before finding their voice on the tenor saxophone. After early professional years in the Kanto Region’s club scene and a recording debut with the psychedelic rock outfit Tengoku Batake Japon, Sanders honed their craft at Berklee College of Music under the mentorship of jazz icons like Ralph Peterson Jr. and Tia Fuller.
