Playing some acoustical bass in a studio I haven’t worked in for a long time! Good to be at Sienna Studios today, formerly Quad Studios.

Making more upright bass low notes earlier today. This AEA Nuvo 8 ribbon mic just sounds so good. Thanks to Julie and everyone at AEA for their support!

Good last day of being 49 years old. Last minute call for a film scoring session then hanging with my pretty ginger-wife to see Jacob Collier, Chris Thiele, and the Nashville Symphony.

My brother served as Project Executive (guy in charge is how I understand that title) for Amazon’s first delivery facility made almost exclusively of timber instead of concrete and steel. One of the first-of-it’s-kind building of this size. Congrats to John and his Graycor team! https://www.graycor.com/graycor-delivers-first-mass-timber-delivery-station-in-elkhart-indiana-for-amazon/

Help me wish this beauty a happy birthday today! Brenda is the kindest, sweetest, most loving wife I could have ever hoped for. She is always incredibly supportive of me and everyone she meets. To know her is to love her! Happy birthday, Brenda!!

It was a 45°C / 113°F day, and we only finished the @premierguitar Rig Rundown about 20 mins before the start of the gig, so I didn’t get a chance to setup my camera and recording for the Nashville show a few weeks ago. But someone was kind enough to send through this video, and despite the quality, I wanted to share with you just how great @sluprok & @timdenbo sounded playing my tunes!!

For some reason @autbra11 decided to record this (thankfully) brief solo from last night. So now I subject all of you to witness as well. Thanks again to @adammillerguitar for having me last night. I had a blast playing with you and @sluprok at The Underdog!

Since we can still say this is the end of the holiday weekend I can still post this, right?

15 years ago I, along with some of the best friends and musicians I know, got to play the main 4th of July stage downtown Nashville. We also happened to have a song called 4th of July. Our amazing manager Alex Torrez put together this video made up of a bunch of photos from that day. Such a fun day and such great memories of these guys and this band!

First upright bass recording with my new AEA N8 ribbon mic. This thing sounds so good! Warm and natural from about 14 inches away from the bass. Can’t wait to work on making it sound even better as I learn more about the mic. Thanks to Julie, Paul, and Jessica for getting me this mic so quickly once I decided to pull the trigger. Awesome people there at AEA! Last picture because one of our cats always sits on my bass case whenever it’s on the floor.

Please pardon all out-of-tune-ness and wonky notes. Just a quick demo of the sound of this bass. Also pardon the video quality and framing. Hard to get everything right in the space I had in my studio!
