Sh*t gets real vulnerable at @sdweekly sometimes and this moment is no exception! I love improv so much cz it forces me to say exactly what the music evokes. These notes/chords screamt “Yearning, closeness, the feeling of being held tight and not wanting to be let go” and even scarier (for those of us still working on expressing their needs in real time) “the desire to ask for it” but it had to be done and this was the result! Leadership seemed scary but it’s all service and that I can do.

It’s a blessing when incredible markers like the @londonjazzfest are there to look back on and track my journey. Big up the legends and giants that have come before us and may we be the bridge for new generations to thrive!!!

It is my mission to centre female musicians and I’m grateful for the allies who push my vision and make space for it! Love you all 🙏🏾💃🏽🙌🏾❣️✨

Gospel Affirmations is a workshop I’m facilitating at @areanoir’s Wellness Weekender this Sunday, 22nd February, 3-4pm. I will be accompanied by the wonderfully talented @zoealexandria on keys 🎹 We will use affirmations and Gospel music to get our mind and heart set ready for the new week!

The rest of the day will be packed full with sound-bath & meditation, express facials, afrobeats dance class/party and professional portraits between 10am-6pm.
