Being a woman is not easy, and being a Black person is even less so. I always put my whole self into everything I do: in relationships, in work, in family, and in the goals I set for myself.

However, ballroom made me understand what intersectionality truly means. Being part of this community, founded by trans people who face struggles even harder than mine, makes me realize how privileged I am. That is why I am grateful to be able to grow and express my creativity within this community.

I know it and I can feel it: I am not loved, but feared, just like in my real life. But thankfully, I have my chosen family — thank you for raising me and guiding me in the best possible way.

As the first Black person in Italy in my category, I am proud to represent and hopefully inspire the next BIPOC people to do the same — if not even more. As a participant in the Woman European Runway category, I know I brought a different kind of walk: sharp shade, strong presence, and without speaking too much — because that’s who I am in real life too. Per la prima volta il Beafrika Show arriva in Italia, unendo la vibe di Parigi con lo stile italiano.

Lo spettacolo è dedicato agli allievi della formazione Beafrika Italy, ma non solo: Beafrika Show è aperto anche ai ballerini esterni, con un nuovo format pensato per mettere in risalto la scena, la performance e la creazione coreografica.

Questo nuovo formato è aperto a tutti gli stili di danza, con una regola semplice: tutte le performance dovranno essere unicamente su musiche afro.

È una prima volta per noi, e un nuovo capitolo per il Beafrika Show. Non vediamo l’ora!
