It’s time for my Mozart era!!!

Was on stage a few hours ago at @metopera closing our run of INNOCENCE, and I’ll be at @laopera in a few hours to begin rehearsals for DIE ZAUBERFLÖTE. 😵‍💫😍

It has been a season of dreams at the Met, and I’m soooo grateful to all of the audiences.I’ll have more to share in the coming days as I begin to process just how much this season has meant.But now it’s time to put the contemporary opera scores down for a little bit and focus on some classic Mozart.

Grateful for all of these fabulous projects in my schedule and maybe I’ll actually sleep soon… maybe?!? 🤣🤣 See you in LA!

On stage now at the Met, Kaija Saariaho’s Innocence follows a group of guests at a wedding as they wrestle with their connections to a devastating school shooting a decade earlier.

In this clip from the final dress rehearsal, the Bride, sung by @jacquelynstucker, confronts her Bridegroom, sung by Miles Mykkanen (@themilesshow), when she learns that his brother committed the horrible crime.

Innocence is on stage through April 29, with Maestro @malkkiconductor leading an acclaimed production by @simonandrewstone.

Die Zauberflöte in London next winter!! After a season immersed in 21st-century rep, I’m ready to step into my Mozart era. 🐉🪈🐦🌚🌞

It is (quite literally) a dream come true to sing Tamino at Covent Garden in David McVicar’s iconic production. I’ll be performing alongside Elena Villalón, Mikhail Timoshenko, Aleksandra Olczyk, and Adam Palma, under the baton of Dalia Stasevska.

I’m deeply grateful to be entrusted with this repertoire at London’s Royal Ballet and Opera. I sang Papageno for my college auditions (back when I was a baritone!) and Tamino has since become one of my favorite roles to sing.

This is a piece that doesn’t let us hide – as artists or as human beings. Innocence is one of the most difficult scores (and heaviest subjects) I’ve ever performed, but I have been buoyed by an amazing team, led by Susanna Mälkki and Simon Stone, alongside this singular cast. It is an immense honor to bring Kaija Saariaho’s masterwork to New York’s audiences – and I hope I’m making all my Finnish ancestors proud!!

I’m heading back to Amsterdam next season – for another world premiere at Dutch National Opera!! 🤩

I’ll sing Ejlert Løvborg in a new operatic incarnation of Ibsen’s iconic Hedda Gabler, adapted by composer Vasco Mendonça and director Nina Spijkers. Ejlert is Hedda’s former lover, a brilliant writer – and a dangerous catalyst in the drama. Luckily this is opera and I’m a tenor and we LIVE for the drama. 😁

I can’t believe the day has come to close this chapter on The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay. 🥺 I’m not ready to say goodbye to this incredible cast and team.

Sam demanded everything – vocally, emotionally, physically, spiritually – and gave even more back to me. To bring all of his dreams and vulnerabilities to our @metopera audiences this season has been an overwhelming honor, with memories I will carry in my heart for the rest of my life.

Creating this role alongside this extraordinary group of artists has been a dream come true. Thank you Mason and Gene for this score, Michael Chabon for this timeless story, and especially Bartlett Sher for leading this magical, unforgettable production.

Tonight’s show is going to be electric. Closing the book… for now.

My heart is so full. Opening Silent Night was a DREAM – and also maybe an adrenaline sport?! 🤩🥰😅

It takes a small army (or three 🤓) to get a late addition onstage, and I’m beyond grateful to this extraordinary cast of singing actors, the orchestra led by Maestro Watanabe, and the backstage heroes who made this wild jump-in possible.

I got to celebrate with my general manager Bill Palant @etudearts and my publicist Beth Stewart @verismocomm, who had my back and kept me sane through a truly bananas month. And I got to hang with two absolute legends in the Verismo fam, @jbartonmezzo and @ryanmckinny. Super casual. NBD.

Kevin Puts and Mark Campbell’s masterpiece – an opera about our shared humanity and decency – feels especially timely right now. I’m honored to help bring this story to Houston audiences over the next few weeks.
