May Your Winter be a Wonderland! From the Norse, the Nordic, The North Pole, and Baby New Year!

I returned to Los Angeles after a year in Connecticut helping my parents out after my dad’s recent operation (he’s doing great now!) to a destroyed house (nightmare monster tenants) and still no work for actors. So, I went back to work coordinating volunteers for PROJECT ANGEL FOOD. Three weeks later, the fires broke out and overnight we were flooded with over 6000 volunteers calling, emailing and walking in... because THE VAST MAJORITY of Angelenos wanted to help in any way they could. I met potential future president #GavinNewsom and his family when they came in to help prepare and pack our 4000 daily meals, #AnnieLennox the week before, and the casts of #Ghosts and #TheSexLivesOfCollegeGirls. Now, we’re fighting to keep the funding the current administration is ripping away so we can continue to feed critically ill LA County residents.

I tell you this story to emphasize the importance of storytelling in communicating necessary information in an engaging way. Not the best example, but it is the topic of my discussion with #TheGoodmanCenter in a recent interview for their July newsletter.Check it out on their website thegoodmancenter.com/blog.Link in bio!

Honored and thrilled to be asked to join the OutFilmCT LGBTQ Film Festival Committee!Last week was another incredible festival filled with excellent films screened at the legendary @trinitycollege@cinestudiotheater (my favorite local cinema since childhood) and culminating at the beautiful @ctsciencecenter. I’m so glad to have finally been home for it this year after such a long time away. So many brilliant films …and even a doc with some friends in it! This was the first LGBTQ film fest I attended in my teens, so a huge thanks to Shane Engstrom (@meinct) for keeping this completely volunteer driven festival going for so many years… also, pretty cool to see Pratt&Whitney (@dependableengines) was a sponser, where my dad dedicated 43 years of his genius engineering brain to designing and building their aircraft engines. Quality LGBTQ+ art & cinema give me the greatest pride!!! THANK YOU!Thank you!Thank YOU!

I had the privilege of being a guest on the “Offstage Acting” podcast out of London, hosted by my friend since our college days at LMU, actor Todd Kramer, and his lovely cohost, actor Jay Reum. Check it out on YouTube or their website OffstageActing.com! It gets deep and dark (yet I continue as if it’s not) as I talk for the first time publicly about the most scarringof my #MeToo moments from my first year in Hollywood… and yes, we do name names.
