i’m sorry it’s taken me so long to visit you. i think about you everyday. i think about the circumstances of your passing everyday. i replay your laugh everyday and the funny noises you would make to me that only i knew the meaning of. i wonder what you would think of who i am right now and all the things i’ve done and will do because of the things you taught me. i wouldn’t be able to teach these kids anything about making beats or hip hop if it weren’t for you. i miss you so much. sometimes i try not to think about all the pain you were in because it just makes me sad. but then i feel guilty for intentionally trying to not remember something that was so ingrained in who you were. i just wish we could talk once more and i could introduce you to all the amazing people ive met and work with. fuck man i just wish you were here

today has been a very hard day.

a year ago i woke up and found my uncle dead in our apartment. it was by far the worst thing ive ever experience and something that i think about constantly. it changed who i am in so many ways and i’m still trying to figure out how to live in a world without him

it’s been a crazy year. i’ve done so much cool shit and i’ve met such amazing people and i’ve also cried so much and felt heart broken so many times and i made so many decisions big and small and i did it all without him. i didn’t think i would be able to ever live with the fact that he was gone. like dude he’s GONE. that’s crazy. i saw this guy every single day of my life for three and a half years, and knew him quite literally from the day i was born. he was my absolute best friend in the whole world. we had our own language it seemed and decades of inside jokes and random noises that had super specific meanings in certain contexts that only we knew about. the dynamic that we cultivated, while sometimes not entirely healthy towards the end, was one i will cherish with everything i am until the day i die

hi friends! i hope you are doing well

i am excited to announce that i am officially starting a band! And the name i’ve decided to give that band: Sol Cerámica—I have such an intense yearning for musical collaboration and i feel that ive really improved my musicianship these last few months. so, i am ready to play with others :)

in keeping with the spirit of transparency and vulnerability, here’s a recent demo of a song im currently writing! i’m always trying to make stuff as an homage to all the amazing music i heard growing up and all the amazing music i’m privileged to hear now

i’m so excited to go further into this track, its becoming a cool special lil thing 🤠

and i can’t WAIT to play this with a whole band!!!!

9:30 PM 9/14/2023 - the groove echoes on

OK SO i actually didn’t spend that much time recording these last few days as i’ve been obsessed with practicing the drums haha

BUT this is something i did work on sporadically throughout the day today! it’s not that long, i tried to focus on groove, feel, texture, tone, clarity, and having fun. this is a cool little jam i think it’ll make a fun track in the future when i develop it further :)

i tried to write a guitar solo but i just wasn’t feeling anything i was making so i have made the executive creative decision that this track doesn’t need a guitar solo 🥸

SO i had a lot of time home alone today and i decided to really work on a track and try to get good takes! i’m really really especially proud of the drum take and the guitar solo like you guys i spent SO MUCH time trying to figure out the guitar lmfao but i kept it simple and it worked out in the end i’m happy with it :))

i hope you guys enjoy!!! this one was really super fun and i’m immensely proud of how it turned out. definitely an extension of the jam from yesterday. more like it’s big brother that came home from college with new concepts in his mind. IDK lol i’m just excited about it 🤠

12:30 PM 9/6/2023 - floating in the middle of my bedroom

hey guys! here’s a little demo i started working on today at around 12:30 PM :) i was just feeling really spacey and really wavy and i’ve been trying to learn how to play fills on the drums LOL

i did very few takes for everything so it’s really sloppy and i was a little nervous about sharing this demo but i had a lot of fun making it and like i said i want to be as transparent as possible! everything was in the moment and i was just expressing myself 🫡

so i hope you guys enjoy!! kick back and light up if you’re into that kinda thing, or just enjoy it as you are 🤠

1:30 PM 8/25/2023 - sitting on the floor of my bedroom

i just got a drum set!!! and now i’m living my childhood dream of being able to produce/perform/engineer all the instruments in my music 🤠

these last few days have literally been the most fun i’ve had in a while. a lot of connections are being made in my brain and a lot of finally reaping what i’ve been sowing for years and years

here’s a little jam/demo i started working on at 11 AM this morning and i stopped around 1:30 PM! it was all very spontaneous, just expressing how i felt in the moment. i don’t think i did more than 2 takes for anything. i really hope you guys enjoy it and i’m so excited to be able to work on original music. i want to be as transparent as possible when working on this next record so expect a lot more posts and peaks into my life and my process and my art, even if it’s not “done” or “perfect” i want to share it all :)

i meant to share this a longggg time ago. i made this short film in my video editing apprenticeship last november!

the assignment was to choose a short story to adapt and we were only allowed to use public domain/archival footage + weren’t allowed to shoot any original footage 😳

it was so hard to figure out a coherent story line from a bunch of random archival clips both with and without sound but i’m actually really proud of how it turned out! even if it isn’t perfect and it’s a lil cheesy 😅 perhaps soon i’ll get back into making stuff like this!
