L. Shankar and Amit Kavthekar are coming to The Egg in Albany this Sunday, May 24. Shankar is one of the greatest musicians in South Indian Carnatic classical music and beyond. Co-founder of Indo-Jazz supergroup, Shakti and master of violin and vocals — 50+ years of playing that has taken the instrument somewhere entirely its own, including his unique double violin invention. Amit Kavthekar brings deep roots in Hindustani classical tabla tradition to round out a rare exciting evening well worth clearing your calendar for.
