** The Basement will be open for walk-ins but we are limiting covers for our bar in the first weeks of opening to manage our team’s capacity (and the potential for overwhelm!) whilst we adjust to our new normal. The bar will remain as normal for our restaurant guests who are also welcome to enjoy the space before or after dinner.

Throwback Thursday! We booked today out for a quick tart up of the restaurant.
Just as we had all more or less suppressed the memory of last December, and mischief managed the various mental and emotional consequences of being all hands on for a commercial renovation - there we were again, brush in one hand, coffee in the other. We’re glad to say that the desk is finally black (I can’t recall if we ran out of paint or time in December - inevitably as anyone who saw us over that week (month) will know - it was both.)
The floor can wait for another day, but for today this was fun! (Also what a relief to be doing it when it’s warm in flip flops not at 0° in the middle of December

BONUS: The return of my favourite thing - the snags list!

Chive flower vinegar on the go, and it’s already the prettiest jar in the building!

Tomato | Alium | Basil
Isle of white tomatoes: Pickled, confit, blowtorched & raw. Dressed with hay oil, salt and sugar.
Barbecued silverskin onions pickled in IPA vinegar, spring onion, garlic flowers. Finished with fermented tomato sauce and chive oil.
