Evening campers! A new teeth dreams full-length has entered the world. Given the state of things, you'll have to forgive me for lapsing into a slightly bleaker headspace for this one. If Baroque Sunbursts has been about finding the brief snatches of beauty in a decaying world, this one is pretty much just the decay. I'm enjoying that project, and I'll have more updates on that front soon. But in the meantime, here's some bleak harshness to close out your week (or prepare you for the next one).

While that sounds bleak, I think it turned out pretty much exactly how I’d hoped. 36 minutes of harsh ambient drone, composed around polymicrotonal interactions between 5 and 7 EDO.

As a little treat, myself and @uboatheflesh are both releasing projects today… OK so the part about it being a treat for you is a lie. Truth is: next year, I’ll be undergoing facial feminisation surgery. For now, in lieu of a traditional gofundme-style fundraiser, we’re releasing these: her new EP (“Empathy Shield”) and my new mini-LP (“self-titled”). Both records can be found at the link in my bio.

I don’t really want to go into it too deeply, but the self-titled mini-LP is in response to some pretty bleak stuff that happened to me during my childhood and early adulthood. I guess I’m trying to build something beautiful &/or constructive out of that pain with this.

Teeth Dreams allowed me the space to process a large quantity of trauma & grief, however it does now mean it's incredibly difficult for me to engage creatively with the project without returning to that well. If the last year of live sets & the next album are anything to go by (forthcoming from @sweatlung_label) I can't promise my music is gonna be cheerful from here-on out, but it is a different animal & I'm looking forward to sharing it & watching it continue to develop from here.

Shaking is the amplified wind duo of Marlene Claudine Radice (ACT) and Making Out (Rosa Bassett, recent ACT expat to Naarm). Shaking use harmonica, clarinet, and piles of electronics to make walls of noise which shudder and yearn. They're joined at the Tote by the incredible Sophie Rose, purveyor of gestural controllers and extended vocal technique; and the inimitable, sensitive timbres of Teeth Dreams. Both have recently put beautiful records out.
