I guarantee you that the trans person in the toilet queue was more scared of you than you were of them…

Oh well, that doesn’t matter anymore. Today, the UK government banned trans people from using the toilets they identify with. So don’t worry, you won’t be seeing trans people in public toilets anytime soon. We’ll be gone. Hounded, attacked, hidden.

I selfishly thought: well at least I’ll be okay. Completing my transition 3 years ago, it won’t affect me. But no, even people who have had the surgery are screwed. Because this has never been about what’s in your underwear, despite what the media constantly screams.

This is a fundamental hatred of trans people. A hatred of a minority that are far more scared of you than you are of them. This is the UK’s lawmakers attempting to eradicate us from public life. Eradicate us from existence. Section 28 all over again.

But you know it won’t stop there, don’t you.

Any cisgender woman with short hair/ broad shoulders/ tall height, husky voice/ androgynous dress sense/ masccis-lesbians… You’re one of us now, good luck!

I foolishly thought common sense would prevail; that a grown-up with at least one brain cell would surely stand up in government and say “wait a minute, maybe let’s not build a policy around being playground bullies.”

But no. Just like 10 years ago with Brexit… how naÏve I was.

Last Saturday I had the pleasure of playing to 3000 people in a tunnel under the heart of Brussels. Which is a sentence I never imagined saying… 🫠

The event by @hangarbe and @listenfestivalbrussels took place under the Cinquantenaire Park, and had metaking over from @riana.holley and then I built up over two hours to @ki.slash.ki’s closing set 🥰

Brussels shutting down a tunnel to do a party as big as this is wilddd. And then me playing to that tunnel of 3000 people is even wilder. And those 3000 people dancing so much to my music is even wilderrrrr 🤯 So much energy!!!

Will never forget this 💖

It was a nice chance to bring out the faster music in my collection too :)

@mmmeanwhile is back with another one. On Sunday 31st May, formidable sibling duo @s_candalo (@thc.dj and @dhc.bln) bring their seductive anthology of house rhythms from Berlin to Canning Town alongside London’s much-adored @kasrav and meanwhile… residents @teecra, @dj____av, and @oliver_scala.

With only half the capacity of our last event, expect a steamier, more intimate, dancefloor-focused affair in @fold.ldn ’s second room, (with our usual vibes sprinkled on top ofc). It’ll be our last one for a while — don’t miss out. 🚨❤️
