I love seeing sketches and plan drawings for larger more “finished” works.

For Après-coup I wanted to show the A4 graphite sketches that helped me plan the compositions for the 6 mono prints.

They are quiet but important me and I’ve enjoyed having them displayed side by side with the finished drawings.

There’s still just over a week to see them for yourself at @864shivers gallery

Sneak peak of a small exhibition booklet that you can snag at the opening of Après-coup on Saturday!

With the gorgeous contributions of @ppaprikaaaaa and @tmhdy as well as the beautiful design by @clop_clop_clop_clop it ties together themes of the exhibition and loosely traces the journey these drawings have taken from Paris to Melbourne.

It’s been a total pleasure and a privilege to work with these three on another special gem for my first interstate solo show. See you there :)

Another work from my recent residency. This drawing looks like a scene of a dog scampering away from a sudden splash of water but is actually made up of three seperate images: A man hosing off the pavement, a tiled floor from a tomb in Père-Lachaise Cemetery and Rosie the kelpie cross on a walk in Bois de Boulogne.

One of the best parts of my residency at La Cité was developing a new drawing process.

I’ve experimented with copying and carbon copy paper for a long time but in this three month period I created my own carbon copy method with charcoal and canvas. Each drawing a unique monoprint with a graphite drawing on one side and a charcoal drawing on the reverse side.

Have finally gathered my life together after a three-month residency at @citedesartsparis

It was a transformative time, fun time, challenging time and special from start to finish. I met lots of people who I consider my friends now and saw lots of things that I’m sure will come out in my drawings for a long time to come.

Thanks @nas_au for the space and for the staff grant that helped me get there but I’ve spent the rest of my money on baguettes and now I have to get back to work.

Check out my website via the link in my bio to see more!
