ICYMI yesterday @people broke the AMAZING NEWS that my Sky Fall books—a YA paranormal romance trilogy about air elementals—are getting re-packaged & rereleased this Fall in hardcover, paperback, ebook, & a boxed set!!!

All three books have gorgeous new covers (art by @alexis_art) & I have revised the whole series, since a lot has changed in the decade since its original release. I’ve added a bonus epilogue to book 3! Best of all: the paperback versions will have beautiful sprayed edges!!!!

All of this is a HUGE dream come true, particularly since this series ran into all the bad publishing luck ever & basically broke my author heart. It’s why I never really talk about it—but I’ll be sharing all the things over the next few months, including why these books are so special to me & why I hope you’ll love them & what exactly happened when they first launched.

Are you ready for this, KEEPER fans???

I promised yesterday that I’d be revealing the title for KEEPER 10 today, and I am a woman of my word. Drumroll, please…..

🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁

The title for KEEPER 10 is …. ELYSIAN!

(which I know a lot of you probably guessed, given how STELLARLUNE ended. But now it’s official!)

And I realize that this is going to make all of you ask, “OKAY SO WHEN IS ELYSIAN COMING OUT??????” And right now, the best answer I can give you is: *soon.*

I still don’t have the exact release date because I’m still writing it. But I promise, I really am working as hard as I can and I also promise I will give you this book as soon as is humanly possible.

In the meantime, you’ll be able to read the first chapter of ELYSIAN **VERY** soon, since it’s included in the gorgeous UNRAVELED paperbacks (which also have fancy sprayed edges) and go on sale 11/11/25!

And now, I guess I’d better get back to work on ELYSIAN, huh???

I know you've all been waiting for an update about the KEEPER movie--and now that @deadline has broken the news, I finally have one!!! Imagine me jumping up and down as I tell you: @wbpictures just acquired the rights, with Emma Watts producing!

Yes, THAT Warner Brothers, which has done some of the hugest, most amazing movie adaptations ever! And Emma Watts has been a *dream* to work with. We seriously could not have a more passionate, dedicated, enthusiastic producer on our side, and she is 1000% committed to making a movie that will have the KEEPER fandom screaming, YESSSSSSSSSS!!!!!

*jumps up and down some more*

Some of you may have seen an earlier post I was a collaborator on, shared by Cricket Magazine. I accepted the collaboration request because I’d previously agreed to participate as part of an interview I’d given them, which is in their current issue. I’ll confess, I accepted the collaboration invite without previewing the post, because it was early and my childcare hadn’t arrived and I had two tiny kiddos demanding my attention. I assumed the post used the same photos and cover art I supplied and approved for the interview itself. But unfortunately my assumption was incorrect and the graphics included an abundance of AI generated art. Since I support artists, and do not support the use of AI, I have now removed myself as a collaborator to the post so it will hopefully no longer appear on my feed. Should any of you like to read the interview, check the latest issue of Cricket Magazine. As you’ll see in the next photos (swipe) it only includes my own photos, official cover art, and my personal sketches. Thank you for your understanding and sorry for any confusion this may have caused.

I haven’t been able to listen to music when I’m writing since I wrote KEEPER 1 and LET THE SKY FALL (weirdly I only seem to be able to write with music when I’m writing the first book in a series.) I’ve found it’s too distracting and ends up pulling me out of the scenes.

But it’s definitely harder to focus for long stretches of writing time now that I’m a mom (especially with how little sleep these kiddos let me get). And it’s going to get even worse this summer when both kids are home all day. So I’m taking a rec from a friend and trying the low, ambient focus music thing. Let’s see if it helps! If nothing else, at least my new headphones are pretty? 😉

I realize some of you are probably going to lecture me on the ergonomic advantages of writing at a desk-desk vs a lap desk. But I seriously can’t be creative at a desk-desk.

I can do my taxes and reply to emails and pay billsat a desk-desk. I can procrastinate on the internet at a desk-desk (because let’s face it, I can procrastinate pretty much anywhere.) But I can’t lose myself in an imaginary world.

It’s too rigid. Too solid. Too … serious. Too uncomfortable (no matter how awesome the desk chair.) I’ve triiiiied. Can’t do it. Nope.

So my office has a couch where a desk would be and I have an assortment of lap desks—including this new one. Which is becoming my favorite. Perfect height for my wrists.

Guess that means I should get back to work, huh?

It’s always my tradition to celebrate these incredible heritage months by giving a shout out to some amazing stories (this time by AAPI authors featuring AAPI main characters) and then donating them to a Little Free Library! And since today is Little Free Library day it seemed like the perfect time to share.

Also: I somehow missed that last month was National Arab American Heritage Month, so I’m including a couple of books by Arab American Authors featuring Arab American characters. Basically, it’s the most book love I could fit into one of those cozy little libraries!

For those who don’t know, this series originally came out in 2013-2016, and thanks to some terrible luck (long story—I’ll tell you later!) very few people know it exists. So it’s incredibly healing to my author soul to have this new chance for this series to find its way to readers. I took the time to revise all 3 books, since a lot has changed in a decade. Book 3 even has a bonus epilogue! Plus, the paperbacks have amazing SPRAYED EDGES!

The series is YA—but lots of you are teens now, so Vane and Audra’s story might be perfect for you. It’s about air elementals and wind wars, with tons of humor and heart and a dash of sweet swoon. (Plus an excessive amount of wind puns!)

Yes, luck is a THING in publishing—and i can prove it! I have 2 series: 1 successful and 1 no one’s heard of. The biggest difference? Luck!

Just so we’re clear, there are lots of things beyond authors’ control that affect their careers (timing, privilege, money, etc) but I only get 3 min for a reel so we’re sticking with luck today.

The good news? Luck can change!!! Check back tomorrow for proof of that (and some news that has made me the happiest author ever!!!)

I know some of you have been wondering how Miss Melody Pond is doing with her cancer treatments. So far, so good! She’s all done with the palliative radiation and has had two great follow-ups.

The treatments sadly weren’t a cure, but they’ve definitely made a difference with her symptoms and she’s currently living her best kitty days, keeping me company as I work on KEEPER 10. Here’s hoping that means we’ll get some more time with her. Right now, we’re just grateful for each extra day.
