From the post-COVID rave Wild Things to SUB ZERO (featured in the video), parties in Philly raise bail, collect money for Gaza, link up with immigrants rights orgs like Juntos (@vamos_juntos_), and turn piers and lumberyards into classrooms after dark.

This essay asks what happens when nightlife treats the dance floor as rehearsal for shared power.

Shoutout to Subzero for helping us throw this event! They’ve been supporting our work and we are immensely grateful. We look forward to furthering our relationship with Subzero and curating exciting events for the Black Trans Community. Because of SubZero’s support we’ve been able to sustain the Quarterly Microgrant for Black Trans Women and Femmes based in Philly. Earlier this year they raised nearly $7000 with their collaboration with @_bodyhack_ and all of the proceeds were donated to U.G.L. Thanks to their community oriented approach to their work we’ve been able to redistribute this money to the girls.

Please give @subzerophl a follow for more exciting events in Philly. They’re a fab BLACK TRANS duo who has been dominating the scene for a minute! 🤩
