No white boxes here! Our client knew exactly what she wanted. She grew up surrounded by warmth and texture, and that shaped everything we designed together. This Los Altos entry was where that intention started. California white oak, custom paneling, and a selenite chandelier that glows like it belongs. The painting holds the whole thing together quietly.

Two interlocking hexagons built in 1975. We did not fight the geometry. We followed it.

This Palo Alto guest house became the kind of project where the building tells you what it wants to be. Working alongside architect Brooks McDonald, we leaned into every curve, every angle, and let the architecture lead.

In Option A, we kept the millwork minimal to ensure the landscape stays the main character. In Option B, we went for a more structured look to give the room a sense of scale and presence.

Both versions align, but they definitely change the energy of the space. Do you prefer the openness of the first or the structure of the second?

For this Palo Alto guest bedroom, we leaned into a palette of deep moss and soft neutrals to bring the outside in. We paired the traditional, spindle-detail of the bed with iconic, high-gloss sculptural side tables for a bit of contemporary tension.

The hand-tufted rug adds that final layer of texture that grounds the whole room. It's proof that you can play with color and still maintain a sense of architectural calm.
