We have teamed up with @cascaderaft to take your rowing and rescue skills to the next level. This course is designed to give you confidence in whitewater and give you access to fishing destinations only experienced anglers can explore.

This 2 day class is limited to 20 students / 10 boats. Each boat will have its own guide, giving students focused time with the instructors to ensure everyone gets the experience and safeguards this requires.

OVERVIEW

An excellent, practical, hands-on course in river safety and water rescues.Topics addressed include accident prevention and preparedness, rope work, mechanical advantage systems, boat-to-boat and swimming rescues, and personal safety and rescue. In other words, what equipment to carry and how to use it, throw bag techniques, how to access and un-pin a boat, how to reach and rescue a swimmer, and swimming techniques to rescue yourself. On Sunday, we’ll focus on boat-handling skills and hydrology with plenty of practice time throughout the day.

Day 1 - River Safety, Rescue & Recovery

Day 2 - Guided Whitewater Rowing School

After Party: Complimentary BBQ dinner is included for all attendees hosted by StreamTech.

Reel therapy

Great day for a first float in your new boat!!

Phil and Evie got some one-on-one time with Scott on the Payette River. With the river pumping 8500 cfs the day was primed for adventure!

Started the day going over setup, safety and rigging the boat with gear. Once all their questions were answered it was time to hit the river. It was a beautiful day driving up the highwayand the water was abundant with kayaks, which means only one thing….the rapids were BIG! Needless to say, Evie and Phil were ready for it. Scott took the oars thru the technical rapid sections teaching them hydrology and how to scout the river. Once they made it through AMF it was time for Evie and Phil to take the oars. Phil had some limited rowing experience but proved to be an excellent captain. Shortly after Evie took the oars and handled it like a boss, super proud of her!

It was a great day on the water giving this amazing couple an experience they’ll never forget. I think it’s safe to say they are confident and will be charging rapids in no time! Give them a follow and enjoy their journey. Evie is quite the angler!

With an angler at the front and rear, this casting competition involved a raft towed around a loop course filled with hula hoops as targets scored for points. Each team gets a lap to score as many points as possible.

The @trroutfitters and @thecascadeanglers teams were hot in the first round. Followed by the Ladies Team and @themayflyproject who improved their scores in the final round. In the end, @thecascadeanglers lost a fly on the last leg of the loop, leaving them with only one scoring angler making the ladies our winners!!
