to every creative who’s ever felt like they were made for something more — this one’s for you.

last night i attended a @stanforcreators’s @creatorcafe.to event in Toronto.

i didn’t know what an incredible @stantoronto space walking into.

i walked out feeling like i’d just seen the room i’m supposed to be in. but what really got me was @jayhoovy the founder’s message:

he talked about how five years ago, a single cringe TikTok video completely redirected his life. he didn’t wait until he was ready. he just started.

now that has transformed into a $40M business.

i’ve been in love with this craft for years now. photography first. then film. now this obsession with how visuals can make strangers feel things they can’t explain.

Stan’s mission — building for creators, believing that stories matter — that’s not just a company pitch to me. it’s the exact reason i’ve been doing this.

so i did something that scared me.

right after the event, i wrote a cold email applying to be a part of their team/misson at the Toronto office.

no connections. no guarantee. just genuine belief that i have something to offer — and that this is worth swinging for.

this isn’t a win post.

my fear of money and career stability is real. but my fear of regret is greater.

i refuse to live a mediocre unfulfilling life wondering, “what could’ve been.”

i’ll accept failure. but i will not accept “what if.”

this is me thriving out loud.

This has been my one and only #edc wallet since then. Got it in custom olive and it has developed some tasty patina over the years.

Perhaps time to upgrade? 🤔not sure. My eyes are on Bensen Mini but the shipping cost is a hurdle.

this one’s for the books! so grateful for every small and big things for how things went on these four days. this is Algonquin’s Lake of Two Rivers Camp Trip 2024! camping has grown onto us. by no means this is a relaxation trip, for a fact, it’s even more work than any regular day. but somehow, it heals. these 3 day camping trip (plus one day or rest+recovery+laundry+cleaning) was much needed. nature nurtures. shutting off of the no-time-to-waste-a-minute world to ‘just…breath’ world is the kind of an appreciation I desire to keep chasing. leaves rattling, birds chirping, water flowing, fire-wood burning, sunsets, moonrise, the food, the people and the stories. that’s the experience. that’s the story to take away. until next time!
