We hold the values of artistic integrity and creativity at the core of our mission. Recently, we’ve discovered instances where choreography taught by our faculty at Steps has been copied and misrepresented by other instructors and organizations on social media and beyond.

We do not tolerate the plagiarism of another artist’s work. Such actions undermine the hard work and dedication of our faculty and compromise the authentic experience our students come to Steps for. We will continue to take necessary measures to protect the intellectual property of our community and uphold the integrity of our studio.

Steps is a sanctuary for creative expression, where the unique artistry of our instructors is protected and celebrated. Choreography taught in class is testament to countless hours of dedication, passion, and expertise. We believe in the power of movement to tell stories, convey emotions, and connect people. I had so much fun doing A Chorus Line for my last Spotlight that I had to do another. The Music & The Mirror is such an iconic number that has had a huge impact on so many dancers growing up that wanted to do theatre. There have been so many incredible women who have influenced me as both a dancer and choreographer, and you can add @makayla_ryan10 to that list. Her ability to balance technique with performance is stunning to watch.
