My natural curiosity and longing to know what’s inside all abandoned spaces EVERYWHERE has had me dreaming about this particular building for the past decade at least, what a treat it was to finally wander inside and explore every corner. Felt like finding a missing puzzle piece, I am beyond satisfied aaaaaa

Also it seems I’ve been straying from club shows for a lil too long by this point so this week I’ll be announcing a huge tour covering (almost) every damn club in Melbourne, keeping you all warm and cosy this winter whilst all our besties are leaving us for hot girl euro summers x

It’s been so hard to keep a secret since late last year but @revolverupstairs was one of four venues WORLDWIDE to be the proud recipient of a grant courtesy of @beatport & @millergenuinedraft - and I had the honour of being asked to join some of the other long term artists & core staff for a fun day of interviewing for a short & sweet lil doco about how we will use the grant & what it means for us…

Eighteen years since I first walked up those steps, eight years playing & four years running events within those walls, I feel like I could have chatted forever about how much this club means to us all, but also how necessary these spaces are.

Since 2020 we have lost a third of our smaller live music venues across Australia, with Victoria losing 300 alone - and with the constant cuts to arts funding (down 25% in four years) & our declining mental health- these creative spaces / the community they provide are now even more important than words can express.

THE CAGE ⛓️‍💥❤️‍🔥

A friendly face among the legends of Melbournes underground scene for the past eighteen years, WISER has carved her own winding path both visually and sonically - producing for short films, runways & dancefloors whilst throwing some of the most special parties Australia had to offer.Booking artists for Revolver Upstairs is one of her greatest joys, her current party “SHADOWS” champions the discovery of new unexpected sounds and challenges what a normalnight out might look like; deeper, darker, & more diverse.

Although she’s only been sharing music for eight of those long years, her deep understanding of human emotion and insanely meticulous set curation has seen her play shows from Amsterdam to Taipei, London to Tokyo and a host of other lucky cities; moving people both physically and emotionally whilst gathering inspiration to share with her beloved community.

A mainstay in Melbournes illegal party circuit, WISER has an innate ability to make people feel truly free - no rules, no boundaries…

36 & smokinnnn’

I don’t actually smoke, but where there’s smoke there’s fire and oh lordy am I feeling it. Dunno if it’s just Aries szn and the planets are doing me favours or maybe it’s cause I’m finally on the right medications to help me combat eight years of chronic pain brain; me and my nervous system have become besties and we know how to say F**K OFF to anything that doesn’t serve us.

I’m closer to fifty than I am to twenty but I’ve never felt better. My creative brain is back on and giving me so many ideas I can barely keep them organised, my body is strong and lets me do things I was only dreaming of.

For anyone going through things, just know it will get better - you just have to trust yourself & feel everything as heavy as it is, time passes and it will get easier somehow.

I’ve spent the last few months quietly tinkering away on such a beautiful project for @mimielashiry & @moveandmanifest - featuring some original WISER compositions that won’t be heard anywhere else…

There’s something so special and satisfying about finding the right sounds for making people move & feel things, working on this together knowing the magnitude of what can be felt, but also encouraging a gentle release, an unraveling; it’s an incredible 90 minutes of music and I can’t wait to watch it unfold.

Our third @moveandmanifest collaboration will be premiering this weekend as an Autumn Equinox session at @tender_place_ ⋆✴︎˚｡⋆
