Well I did something that made me feel like, damn I really just did that, 3 weeks ago.. talk about going from a high to a low. I know my dad is proud of me though and I’m pretty proud of myself for pushing myself like I did for this. I’ve wanted to do a vintage bike race the last few years and so I made it a goal this time last year to get to the Biltwell 100 for the 2026 race. First was finding a bike since I wanted to race a vintage class but didn’t have a proper vintage bike for it. We ended up finding this 1985 Honda XL250r in pretty great condition, I’m no mechanic but my partner took the motor apart and got her all tuned up for me. The motor work actually didn’t get done until the day we left so I wasn’t able to put any time on this bike before racing, which was a little nerve racking but just a few idle and choke adjustments once I got on the line and out there and she ran great! Road a pretty tough terrain, some really deep sand and rain ruts but made it the entire 75 miles which was my only goal so ending up 2nd in my class was just a cherry on top. I felt so much love and support from my people, every lap they brought my energy back up and truly made it so fun! First time racing on the course with @benlamay (different classes obviously) so that was fun and doing it with my girl @baileyyyyjo made it that much more special! The motor work actually didn’t get done until the day we left so I wasn’t able to put any time on this bike before racing, which was a little nerve racking but just a few idle and choke adjustments once I got on the line and out there and she ran great! Well I did something that made me feel like, damn I really just did that, 3 weeks ago.. talk about going from a high to a low. I know my dad is proud of me though and I’m pretty proud of myself for pushing myself like I did for this. I’ve wanted to do a vintage bike race the last few years and so I made it a goal this time last year to get to the Biltwell 100 for the 2026 race. First was finding a bike since I wanted to race a vintage class but didn’t have a proper vintage bike for it. We ended up finding this 1985 Honda XL250r in pretty great condition, I’m no mechanic but my partner took the motor apart and got her all tuned up for me. Hi, it’s me. Life’s had some unimaginable changes lately but I’m still behind the camera and grateful for the consistencies in my life. The art, my clients that allow me to work doing something I love, my partner, my friends that let me be imperfect and still love and support me!
