Finally dug my harness out of storage today and tied in for a first feeler try on Dreamcatcher. What a privilege to get to try this line! I can only hope one day to return to Squamish and try again with more intention but for now it was an absolute dream to just try the moves with little expectation and enjoy being up high on one of the best routes out there! A magic day with good homies in the room 🫶🏻

A perfect day in Zillertal with @theparkourarchitect and @simon.mmr ☀️ Sun was shinning and the vibes were good. After a long few weeks of being sick, working a lot and generally feeling quite bad and demotivated in my own climbing, getting back outside has been really refreshing. I spent the past two days ill again in bed and woke up feeling a bit doomed to have a good climbing day so standing on top of this dream line of mine felt pretty special ☺️ Hoping this is a sign that the psyche and strength is coming back 🙌🏻

The Deputy v12

A pretty surreal feeling to find myself standing on top of this boulder. Not because climbing it felt particularly hard. In actuality in the moment it felt quite a bit below my limit which left me sitting on top feeling something entirely different than what I had expected to feel. It was never about the boulder. It didn’t matter whether I did it or not. What mattered was learning how to let go of expectations and the “need” to send hard boulders to feel validated in my climbing and progression. It seems so simple in writing but I struggled a lot with my mental game, letting different pressures build up, keeping me from climbing my best.

My year in Squamish was a pivotal one for many reasons. Moving away let me really reflect on those experiences. I think I’ve come a long way and it feels so good to just climb freely! Coming back to Squamish and revisiting this project that once felt very hard for me both physically and mentally was a very special experience. My days under this rock with so many friends I hold dear means the world to me and the continuous support leaves me feeling very grateful!

After six months of injury, last week I was told I have a herniated disk, needless to say it’s been a tough year. Not climbing for 4 months straight and an upcoming Rocklands trip, I’ve been feeling pretty defeated. The past few weeks I’ve been trying to climb again but it’s been hard feeling weak and unfamiliar on the wall. So this was a special moment to find some flow and top a semi hard line on my second try in some less than ideal conditions. Hopefully a good sign that we’re on the come up! But still a ways to go 🫡

Spent 3 minutes on the wall trying to de-pump for the final jump and then was pretty much cooked after that for the trip 😅

First hard boulder back from injury and damn it feels so good to be climbing again 🥹 Warmed up and all of a sudden I was standing on top. First real try from the bottom! Big thanks for the support @jakobmxr 🙏🏻 and @duke.of.parma for the clutch foot walk beta 👣

I tried this one back in the spring when I was in quite good form and it felt honestly a little desperate! Lately I’ve been feeling on a new level since my return from injury and it felt rather easy. I definitely agree though that it’s quite a bit harder than the 8a’s here so probably somewhere in the low end of 8a+? Either way, one of Zillertal’s best lines!! 😍
