From the winter solstice back to the SUMMER SOLSTICE in Washington DC! ☀️
For the start of the capricorn Season (my season ♑✨ - bday countdown is on!) I'm challenging myself to post more about key moments of this past year(s). Moments I'm still holding on to and generally only share glimps of through my stories. But let's make these permanent here!
To start off, back to June 22nd, Washington DC where I flew all the way from Salvador da Bahia to play a special set at the @smithsonian_africanart @smithsonian for the longuest day of summer!

Invited by curator @jaypather to take part in 'The Earth Still Shakes' live art series that focused on healing sounds, I figured this Time and Space was a full circle moment where I could only pay a tribute to the #QUIETSTORM - the groundbreaking radio show originated at @howard1867 @whurfm by Melvin Lindsey 🕊️ that influenced my love for Soul music and my djing practice of playing vinyl records of R&B slow jams and downtempo tunes for erotic daydreams of a tender and sensuous black life.

Truely a moment I'll cherish FOREVER and the cherry on top was the presence of 2 of my favorite people/artists @ibruji who shared the stage w/ @loce.moon 💫 Thank you for lifing together, for sharing ur sultry vocals with us and even for styling me 🙏🏾
Thank you to the DC crowd for giving me LIFE! You all show up and show out to make bliss that night. I felt so honored to spin this selection for you and co-create this glorious hour that felt like a cook out at the museum! (part of me feel like @honeydijon would've been proud)
Finally, thx to the team at the Smithsonian African Art museum for the warm welcome and most importantly to @bashirtheengeneer1 and Stefan for the technical support 🤲🏾

To my fellows, musiciens, DJs, VJs @chmba @nkosenathikoela @inkakendziay'all killed it!💥
To @neneperei a quiet shaker ✨

Till we all cross paths again on the dancefloor
And happy holiday y'all ! 🙌🏾🤍

Quelle saison!

What a season! 72 days, during which you activated and participated in the universe of Nyum Elucubris 🤲🏾💫🌈
10 weeks of dances, hoops, jump ropes, bursts of laughter, bright presences, and shared flamboyance to remind me how political our joy is. (And 1 more week to experience this space, until May 11th).

Gratitude, a huge THANK YOU to each Supernova.
Those who inspire me every day, who shared their words, their strength, and their moves with me.

You know who you are.

As the summer begins and the Klima Biennale’26 comes to a close, ENTRE is delighted to remind that “Kôô: Libations for Grief” by Soñ Gweha @sonxseed will remain open every Friday and Saturday until June 13th, 2026.

Kôô: Libations for Grief (Samples, Spirals, and Sonic Offerings) is a site-specific exhibition of sculptural, sonic, and video works by Soñ Gweha.

The exhibition specifically highlights how Black and African ancestral knowledges around land, nature, spiritual syncretism, and history of resistance intersect amidst the current aftereffects of colonialism. Showcasing a nonlinear approach to researching the artist’s lens of the history of endangered songs, lost files, and memory.

The exhibition is curated by Guilherme Maggessi, Marilyn Volkman, Rafał Morusiewicz and made possible through with support from the Klima Biennale Wien (provided through the cultural department of the City of Vienna Stadt Wien Kultur) and cultural funding from the 7th district, Wien-Neubau. @kulturneubau @stadtwien @biennale.wien

SAVE THE DATE 👀👀👀👀

On 14.04 (2-9pm), ENTRE softly opens the exhibition “Kôô: Libations for Grief” by Soñ Gweha @sonxseed 🌀

The exhibition is part of this year’s Klima Biennale @biennale.wien and takes place within Immediate Matters’ program SPEAK WE MUST WE MUST SPEAK, curated by Anne Faucheret 💞

🐚🐚🐚

Kôô: Libations for Grief (Samples, Spirals, and Sonic Offerings)
an exhibition by Soñ Gweha
curated by Guilherme Maggessi, Rafał Morusiewicz, and Marilyn Volkman

For Klima Biennale ‘26, ENTRE presents Kôô: Libations for Grief, a site-specific exhibition of sculptural, sonic, and video works by Soñ Gweha. The works center on the “Achatina” snail (“Kôô,” as Cameroon’s Bassa people call it), which is listed among the world’s most destructive invaders. With invasiveness imagined here as a generative modality of grief, the snail plays the role of a healing spiritual entity, a symbol of communal care, and a sonic device for ecological attunement.

The exhibition takes places from 14.04-13.06 at ENTRE, Burggasse 24/4, 1070 Vienna.

During the Focus Week of Immediate Matters, the exhibition will be open everyday from 2-7pm 🔮

For more information on events and tours, stay tuned and also follow @biennale.wien

Visit the Jan van Eyck Academie during @museumnachtmaastricht and experience the work of JvE participant Soñ Gweha (@sonxseed), 𝐑𝐢𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐩𝐞𝐱 𝟏 (𝐎𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐬 𝐕𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬), 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟐.

The installation is an intimate video installation with chimes suspended at approximately eye level. Against the backdrop of their own biography, which is intimately interwoven with resistance practices, Soñ Gweha explores self-empowerment as a strategy for healing.

At the center of the video is "Nyum Supernova". This being rooted in Afrofuturist and Afrofeminist strategies of emancipation, is almost namesake to the deity of healing from Cameroonian spirituality of the Bassa people. The figure, recurring in various works by the artist, reveals their burst of life, a flash of a sunray reflected on water, while they traverses multiple cycles of self-soothing words in the video in question. "I AM HEALED. / I HEAL." repeats Nyum Supernova with a genderless, sometimes distorted voice, mantra-like – as if to emphasize that this very cycle, that the healing of trauma, is a process that is never completed, but rather continuous. Just as centuries of colonialism and white patriarchal supremacist ideology have been.

With the chimes emulating another wordly flowing sound of water, Soñ Gweha or SOÑXSEED formulates an invitation to visitors to play the chimes (as instructed in the video, with index and middle finger). In this way, the various elements function like "vectors" for Soñ Gweha, which altogether with the video form a kind of equation or method of soothing regulation.

Soñ Gweha aka SOÑXSEED – @sonxseed – is a transdisciplinary artist, DJ, researcher, community organizer, and herbalist in training.

Their creative universe unfolds across multiple imaginaries – utopian, erotic, spiritual – expressed through a variety of mediums such as music, analog DJing, video, performance, installation, sculpture, and collective practices.

They draw on Black, Queer, and visionary mythologies, connecting human and non-human worlds as well as visible and invisible realms. Through immersive environments, Soñ Gweha opens spaces for reimagined forms of intimacy and joy, where sorrow, resistance, solace, aliveness, and celebration are woven together.
