The best coaches don’t wait for retention to become a problem.

They solve it in the first 15 minutes.

A quick Zoom call before training even starts. Not a sales call. Not a check-in. Just a human conversation — and that’s exactly what makes it stick.

Online coaching can feel transactional. The coaches who win long-term are the ones who refuse to let it.

Build the relationship before you build the program. 🤝

7+ years ago I started coaching on Skillest and I had no idea how much it would change my life.

Because of online coaching I’ve been able to move across the world and still keep my business running. I can work with players from anywhere, and some of them I’ve coached for over 3 years now.

All I really need is WiFi and I’m able to do what I love.

It has given my family and me a level of freedom that imreally grateful for that.

Very thankful for the platform and the players who trust me with their development.

Coaches — this is what modern coaching actually looks like.

Caught up with Alex Clapp recently and it was a reminder of how powerful it is when you fully lean into the tools available to you. What started with simply logging in-person lessons has grown into a complete coaching business — structured, scalable and always connected to the student.

That’s the shift.

👉 You don’t need to change who you are as a coach.👉 You just need a system that grows with you.

Skillest is the only software built to evolve alongside your coaching journey — from booking and delivering in-person lessons, to building subscriptions, communicating daily with students, and creating a thriving international online business.

Most coaches think getting started is complicated. It’s not.Log your first lesson. Message your students. Let the platform do the heavy lifting.

If you’re serious about building something bigger than one lesson at a time — this is where it starts.

@drewsteckel has coached Kevin Na, Pat Perez, Jason Kokrak and many others.

Here’s what he says separates them from everyone else:

It’s not positions. It’s not body movements.

They own the face. They know their pattern, they know their threshold, and they know — under any pressure, any environment — exactly what they need to do to curve a golf ball.

And here’s the real test: they can do it on hole 1 on a Thursday. Not just on the range.

That’s not talent. That’s ownership.

Inside takeaway? Make sure you’re not making this setup mistake.

We want the blue dots (shoulder, elbow, wrist) to sit more on top of each other at setup which lowers the handle of the club.

When the lie angle gets too upright at setup this can create an inside takeaway due to too much ulnar deviation of the wrists.

Yes there can also be other factors at play but this is a good place to start.

Allow the arms to ‘hang’ from the shoulders, point the butt of the club at your waist line and allow the toe of the club to sit off the ground.

20 Seconds To Cure Your Slice 👊🏌️‍♂️

Most golfers slice it because the clubface is WIDE OPEN 🤯
And one of the biggest reasons?
A weak grip + a cupped lead wrist in the backswing.

Here’s a simple drill called “Knuckle Count” that can completely change your ball flight 👇

✅ At setup, a right-handed golfer should see around 2–2.5 knuckles on the lead hand.
✅ Then check the club at:

* Waist high
* Chest high
* Shoulder high

👉 You should STILL be able to see those knuckles.

Why?
Because it helps keep the lead wrist flatter and the face more controlled.

❌ If the knuckles disappear…
The wrist is usually getting too cupped/open.
That leaves the face wide open and sends the ball slicing right.

Train this in front of a mirror or camera for instant feedback 🎥

Do this consistently and you’ll:

* Control the face better
* Start the ball straighter
* Reduce the slice
* Compress the ball more consistently

TOE SHOTS? Trying to keep the club behind you to hit draws?

In my experience this can lead to the trail arm getting trapped behind and therefore steepening the shaft and narrowing the space between you and the ball. This therefore exposes the toe. Is this something you feel you are struggling with? Take a look at the trail arm here of my swing model Mr Robert Rock how it sets in the backswing and how it moves through the transition.

If you are interested in working with me please DM me I have a new offer for new students thatis very desirable!

A 6-time PGA Tour winner went looking for a coach for his son.
He didn’t ask around. Didn’t call a buddy.

He went online, searched “best coaches in Scottsdale,” and scrolled through profiles until someone caught his eye.
That someone was @keithbennettgolf

The way he taught. The way he talked. The personality that came through on social.

One message on Skillest later — they were off and running.
Your social media isn’t just content. It’s your resume, your highlight reel, and your first impression — all running 24/7 without you lifting a finger.

Comment ‘REPS’ and I’ll send you 3 FREE DRILLS to improve your ball striking!!!

Do you have the YIPS????

There are few things worse on a golf course than when someone looses all confidence with contact around the greens. You start seeing players putting it from 30 yards away 🤣. It’s rough. Like anything, the key is understanding a way out, Ora strategy to get back to confident place.

I filmed this video for a student of mine who was struggling with green side confidence. The strategy I outlined for him was all around getting back to basics with what goes into making the correct brush of the ground. Just get used to feeling that. Once that’s easy, we can start bringing the ball into the equation with low pressure shots where we only focus on contact. Keep the expectations simple and build it, step by step. Eventually you’ll forget the yips ever existed.

Send this video to a friend who desperately needs help around the greens.

10 seconds to cure your early extension 🔥

One of the biggest issues we see with club golfers is the lower body moving toward the golf ball… pelvis extending, spine standing up, and the arms getting trapped or “wipey” through impact.

Here’s a simple drill to train the feel of maintaining posture and flex ⛳️

✅ Grab an alignment rod or golf club✅ Place it across your chest so it creates a “tail” behind you✅ Get into posture and make slow rotations✅ Use a mirror or your camera for feedback

The goal?Keep the “tail” staying behind you through impact.

❌ If the tail disappears or points upward early, you’re extending and losing posture.✅ If it stays back, you’re rotating correctly and maintaining space.

This is a brilliant way to build awareness first… then blend it into your swing.

✔️ Better rotation✔️ Better contact✔️ More consistency✔️ More compression

Save this drill for your next practice session 📌Share with a golfer who early extends 👊
