Siblings Mise’l and Antle are forced to work together when a malevolent spirit begins to torment them. To face it, they have to journey into Sk+te’kmujue’katik, a forest that exists outside of time, to confront their violent upbringing.

To celebrate the release of At the Place of Ghosts (Sk+te’kmujue’katik), the amazing Blake Angeconeb (@blakeangeconeb ) created this artwork inspired by the film’s themes.

🪶Two youth at the base represent the brothers, each with a baby Thunderbird behind them. The feathers symbolize two-spirit identity, while the faces and flowing shapes reflect guiding spirits, healing, and wisdom. At the top, the boys have transformed into men, rising with the Thunderbird. The central orb speaks to the interconnectedness of their journey. The canoe honours both their path and the film’s powerful water scenes. Dark green tones were inspired by the film’s striking natural cinematography and the forest’s richness.
