Here is a little recap of this incredible time. Instead of pointing fingers and blaming teammates for any mistake or underperformance on a jump, there was an unbelievable team spirit which kept each of us motivated to perform at the highest possible level.

I came with 700jumps and a 20-way HD formation and I’m sooo grateful for @hannahnicoleparker and awesome friends who convinced me to join even if I wasn’t sure of it at all!💛The whole week was so much about self-control, confidence, visualization, and belief.

Finally I met my new soul mate when we accidentally and luckily ended up in the same dorm room @coboudreault 💜🌜

This week was just the greatest and most intense experience in my life so far. Nov‘2022

It took me a while to share this.

I had an accident at Skydive Spain in February, during what should’ve been a great team week. I fractured three thoracic vertebrae T4,5,6 and bruised my ribs and tailbone quite badly.

I know how lucky I am to be walking away from this, but it’s also more than just luck.

I came out of my turn and hit the ground really hard. A lot of factors played a role here. I don’t remember everything, but I remember how it felt. How it sounded. Seeing my feet in the air and thinking, this can’t be real.

After eight days, I stood up again for the first time. And after another X-ray, I got the news that the fractures had stayed stable, and if everything heals well, my spinal cord will remain safe.

My team, my friends, and my family were there for me in every way they could, and I’m incredibly grateful for that. I learned very quickly who I could count on, and they gave me the energy to keep a positive mindset during this challenging time❤️

I made a mistake, and I’ve been learning from it and reflecting on it since day one. A little reminder to always train, stay physically strong, and look after your body.

It might just save your ass one day.

Can’t wait to feel the wind again and I’m gonna come back!

🤍🕊️In honor of the most special coach, Jaycee - such a dedicated soul, always on the mats, always teaching & learning.

Someone who had a huge impact on me since I was 13y/o, guided me through my toughest years, and helped me grow into someone stronger and more confident. Training with him for almost a decade shaped me in ways I’ll carry forever. And I know many can relate to this.

There was truly only one of him. Forever thankful for showing us the way and sharing his big passion for Luta Livre.🤍

So I’d like to take this chance to say a few words, because last week I was honestly a bit speechless :)
When I held that envelope in my hands, my heart was racing and a big part of me was wishing so much to see my name inside. Now that this dream has come true, it counts as one of the most joyful and grateful memories for me.

I’m grateful for all my family and friends who have supported me along the way — thank you for being there.

ToraTora is a team I’ve been looking up to for a long time. At my first event with you, six years ago, I had around 200 jumps and thought: That’s exactly where I want to be. At one of my first skill camps in Skydive Algarve — Johannes, you might remember — I had Anthony as my coach, and you came to film. But instead of following Anthony… I followed the cameraman, and you almost landed off… That was my level back then, haha. And I met little Koen, haha, interviewing me in a truck for his first video with you guys, both of us a bit nervous and shy and baby skydivers.

René will always be part of the team and he´s always gonna be missed. I liked him from the very first second — from packing competitions (I beat him once with 22 seconds, though I’m not sure if he let me win) :) and grappling on the packing mat, to funny and learning jumps, and such good conversations. These are memories I’ll never forget, and I know everyone else feels the same. I believe René would be happy today, and I’d love to tell him about it. Jasper, Floris, Martijn and Willem, he’d be proud of you guys- I believe that deeply. And I’m grateful that you took this step and welcomed someone new. I’m proud of how you’ve grown, and I admire how you never stop moving forward. We can’t replace René, but we carry his spirit with us wherever we go.

And one important thing: Even if an unconscious dream or wish feels unrealistic, keep believing — one day you might hold an envelope with your name on it.

Thank you for letting me be part of the team on your 20th anniversary. I’ll give my very best for us and I’m ready for the next 20 years. You are family to me & I love every single one of you.
Your Anabel ❤️
