I was going to make this video shorter for the algorithm, but f**k the algorithm!

After the first few months of the year I’ve started back on my dance journey, and while it’s been challenging to say the least I expected it.
When I watched this back I felt something I haven’t felt in a long time. My timing, feeling, happiness, the way I played. I realized that, that was me. That was authentically me.
I feel like I haven’t been able to match how I feel to the movement I do, at least like I used to, but I did that here 🙏🏻
I am looking forward to exploring more and continue building,there is so much more I want to do with dance but just wanted to share this moment

Showcase for @thesession_la

Heartbreaking to not be able to dance the way you would like. Couldn’t train the same or many times at all, can’t travel the way you’re used to, can’t dedicate yourself the way you have and needed to be at the level you want.
The other side of the coin is today I have the blessing and privilege to start again. My legs & arms work, my mind is steady thinking about dance, and my heart and love for dance is stronger than ever.
Now, am I where I want my dance to be, no. I hold myself to a higher standard and have to do the work to get there before I can start surpassing that standard, but I’m looking forward to the work. Physically and health wise a lot damage has been done and 6 years of caregiving has taking its toll, and I have to undo as much of that as I can. There has been progress, not as fast as I would like, but still moving in the right direction, which is all I can ask for.
This is where I’m currently at and I guess that’s what this moment means, and I appreciate the opportunity to share 🙏🏻

Here is a foundational base to not only improve your hand movement, but to give you a starting point to get into Digits if you so choose

A great base for practicing continuous tracing is rounding your arms and doing continuous trace waves. The key to keeping the shape, or framework as I like to call it, is the pass off to the other side and while switching placement. All while keeping the trace & the wave continuous.
