Shabbes 24/7 was founded by three queer feminist Jewish women in Belgium - longing for a space to feel at home in all their identities and politics. A space where they could live out their diasporist dreams and build an alternative to mainstream Jewish organisations and groups that maintained a political relationship to Israel that they could not align themselves with. Instead, they dreamed of a space that brought to life their feminist values and commitment to queer liberation. There existed no spaces in Belgium where their values and identities were affirmed and held - this is where Shabbes 24/7 came in.

As a queer diasporist Jewish collective, we believe in liberation and solidarity with all oppressed peoples, we stand for liberation, not assimilation. This year, like all other years before, we will protest alongside our community and remember the radical roots of Pride.

We will avoid corporate Pride as usual, reasons enough: from sponsors benefiting from war and genocide to right-wing political parties in attendance and pinkwashing.

Shabbes 24/7 is a queer, anti-zionist Jewish collective with members brought together by their anti-racist feminism, queerness, a commitment to building communities of care, and pride in their status as Jewish people living and organising in Belgium. Since its launch in 2020, the collective has published four zines with art and writing on topics including queer joy, changing your mind, and lived experiences of being queer Jews in Belgium.

We invite you to a cosy informal evening with members of the collective. Enjoy a glass of tea or wine, listen to us read aloud from the zines and (if you want) join in a relaxed reflection about the texts and about what it means to be queer and diasporist in Belgium today. We’ll also have copies of our latest zine for sale!

We envision this space for racialised queer communities to share, and learn from each other. For celebrating community memory and knowledge often overlooked. This event, made *by us, for us*, is for connection and creation, not for observation or research.

Members of racialised and othered communities are especially welcome to bring their experiences of organising, archiving, and reclaiming memory.

The space prioritises racialised AND queer communities; others are welcome only if mindful of positionalities and limited space.

We will read, listen, talk, and be together in communities, in diversity and in resistance.
