After the wake of her husband's recent death, Ruth (#MarcelineHugot) is struggling to manage life on her own . She's retired, she doesn't have anyone to cook for and she certainly doesn't have anyone to turn on the grill for her. Ruth spends a lonely afternoon on hold with the electricity company, trying to change the electricity bill from her husband's name to hers. While lapping the suburban dead ends, she has a chance encounter that changes everything for her.

New York Day Women is one of those. Directed by the incredibly talented @fredgynoel and premiering @tribeca this June. This short film is a gentle, deeply observant portrait adapted from Edwidge Danticat’s story. Shooting this felt like being part of something grounded, intimate, and full of love.
