In celebration of One Year Anniversary for Imaginur film, I’d like to share my side of the story.
Syukur Alhamdullilah.
I still remember like it was yesterday the first time @_nikamir told me about this film. 2017, I took a ride home with him and he put on Foo Fighter’s latest album “Concrete and Gold”. We banged our heads like a couple of teenagers on a road trip 😂
At the end of the album as our ears ringed echoes of Foo’s songs he started to explain to me about Imaginur and his concept. I’m in all the way without even him asking me to do it.
@idhammaddin was the DoP for this and he did such a brilliant job telling this story with his canvas.
@technicastudios did the editing and sound that incapsulate the soul of this film.
@miradigital.vfx did amazing “invisible” vfx to make this Imaginur World.
@hafiz.chin the super producer, thank you for being the glue of this film. Your understanding and support has been superb 😁👍🏻💪🏻
Fun fact, we graded this film during the pandemic lockdown. I moved all of my equipments to my home. Nik lives 5-10mins away from me. So he would just quickly drop by and grade at my house (with MCO protocols of course). We actually changed the colour of the film 4 times I believe. Because we want to make it feel “right”. I remember as I was experimenting and turning the rings and knobs of my panel Nik said, “Stop!” And I did. Look at it he said. We stared at the screen for a few minutes and discussed why does it look “Right”. We know what other Malaysian film looks like. We know what romantic Malaysian film look like. We know what romantic Hollywood film looks like. We want to not make it look like them. Something that others haven’t “felt” before. But we want to feel the characters in the film on how they feel. So we settled on it and we grind our way to the rest of the film with that thought in mind.
I would like to thank my lovely wife @slhtlb for supporting me in this project. It was tough to finish up, to make it right. You’ve help me in many ways to make this project possible. Without you, this movie will not look the as it is now. You’re my muse. I love you my dearest love ❤️💚💙 also 👶 Reza 😁
