Today, I finally get to share a project I feel I’ve waited forever to share. Narrating through production what I haven’t been able to narrate through words. What came about the conception of my first solo EP, ‘A Night Was Had’.

Moving a concept I’ve wanted to express for quite some time, ‘A Night Was Had’ chronicles the experiences I’ve had navigating nightlife, in its most joyous & its most intense manifestations, merged into a single night laid out in 4 stages: The Rise (This Is Your Warning), The Peak (Dance at Your Own Risk), The Purge (Think I Had Too Much), & The Release (Euphoria Keeps You Safe).

This project has pushed my understanding & commitment to production in ways I couldn’t imagine nor could’ve imagined this quickly. To everyone who’s listened early on, tested it out at the clubs, played in their mixes, provided countless notes of feedback, I thank you for pushing me to better myself & seeing my potential to do so. I’m very proud of this project & I’m very excited for you all to listen.

After Ruin is a site-specific program exploring two intertwined acts of reclamation occurring at Whole Festival, one queer and one ecological, as the former center of the global brown coal industry transforms into an unlikely site of outsider world-building. By unearthing the land's complex history, After Ruin contends with the possibility of constructing afterworlds guided by the global queer community's unique expertise in mourning, loss, resilience, and play. After Ruin will unfold through a triptych of performances by NM DJ, Sekucci, Sterling Juan Diaz, and St. Mozelle tracing the site’s history from the primordial to the future, curated by P. Eldridge (@sissyanarchy) & Russell Reed (@geographer).

“Every set is a diary entry,” they told PAPER. “If I’m happy you’ll know it. If I’m going through it, you’ll know it.”
