🇱🇧 From Manchester to Lebanon 🇱🇧 out now !

Following the fundraising success of the 'From Manchester the Palestine' compilations, it felt necessary to follow up with the next edition - 'From Manchester to Lebanon' after a call out for support from a community member.

The compilation is a multi-genre, multi-artist collection with all proceeds raised from Bandcamp going to mutual aid funds within Lebanon, through Khabar Keslan & The Great Oven.

Words from Khabar Keslan:

What started as a way to support friends and loved ones fleeing their homes in the south turned into a weekly support fund for displaced families across Lebanon.

We have been helping pay for rent, household essentials, and responding to each family's particular needs.

The decision to support families arose from the martyrdom of income providers of different households. With previous experience of supporting families in Gaza, we know that families can't exist on supplies and handouts. The need for a monthly income remains a top priority for displaced families. Our goal is to provide these families with a form of financial independence.

The duty we have to martyrs, orphans, the elderly, and the vulnerable in our community allowed us to mobilise donations to provide a sense of sustainability for families most impacted by the wars that took place over the past two and a half years.

Words from The Great Oven:

The Great Oven is a community organisation and kitchen operating in Beirut and the Bekaa Valley, Lebanon, providing emergency food relief and solidarity to displaced, refugee, and migrant populations through large, community-built ovens. Their initiatives include daily hot meals, distribution of food parcels and baby formula. Coordination of shelters for the most vulnerable, providing mattresses, blankets and sanitary products.

----
Please support and share the compilation widely

SEEN Magazine and Crop Radio invite you to an open conversation about sober parties, community gatherings and the rise of third spaces. SEEN co-founder Balraj Samrai and Gloss co-founder Tyron Webster will talk about the positives and challenges of alcohol-free events, gatherings built around food and wellbeing, and performances that aren’t centred on bar sales.

As more venues close and gentrification continues to shape our cities, the need for creative, welcoming spaces grows stronger. Can community centres, studios, art spaces, libraries, cafés and even homes offer new ways for us to come together?

Join Balraj and Tyron at Bound Art Book Fair for a thoughtful discussion on how these shifts are influencing club culture and beyond.

Throughout the weekend, both SEEN and Crop will be at the fair with stalls selling their latest magazines, so be sure to stop by and say hello.

🔅PUBLIC PROGRAMME SPOTLIGHT🔅
Third Spaces with @seen_universe and @crop.radio

This year’s free public programme focuses on ideas of gathering and congregation. Across talks, workshops and roundtables we’ll explore the critical and creative capacities of dancing, altered states, collaboration and collective joy, from raves to LAN parties, sacred rituals to mosh pits, high school proms to UFO clubs.

In this open roundtable event, SEEN co-founder @deejaysamrai and Gloss co-founder @tyron.withno.e will lead a conversation on sober parties, community gatherings and third spaces. They will discuss the pros and cons of dry events, gatherings centred around food, better health advocacy and performances not tied solely to alcohol sales. As more venues close down and gentrification envelopes our cities, the demand for creative space is high. Can third spaces such as community centres, studios, arts spaces, libraries, cafes and homes provide accessible places to gather? Join us for an open conversation exploring the impact of this shift in club culture and beyond. SEEN and Crop will also have a shared stall selling recent issues of their magazines for the duration of the fair.
