this visual was pure insanity from conception. from writing the treatment during an off day on tour, jumping straight into prepro, calling the team up w this concept to pulling last minute pickups, we came out with a visual im super proud of. it took a lot of hard work from everyone involved and i’m v thankful for everyone who supported the vision. big thank you’s to @seattlejared for always trusting in the vision and being ready to shoot and roll on anything, @alyssaliu8610 for jumping into production design and pulling everything together and trusting we could make it happen, @iammoriah for casting on a dime and clutching up for us in the 4th quarter, @vanessa__varillas for absolutely monstering through quite a bit of vfx on a quick timeline, @yunggravy for pullin up to show love, @ericreprid for letting us rock out in the new LA crib, @blazarlens.official for lending me some of the new mantis anamorphics, @lo3tus for jumping into our intro cameo spot off a whim, and most of all: @bbnomula for the trust to bring this to life.

I don’t usually post too much about my personal life on here but with something like this I’m not really sure how else to put out the news to all of my friends, family & community members.

This past weekend my roommates and I suffered through a devastating house fire. The full extent of the damage and the exact cause of the fire are still being determined by the fire department.

Processing everything is a daily challenge that I know all of us a working through on our own right now. As we work through all of the logistics, I just want to thank everyone that has already been so supportive.

I’m so grateful for my girlfriend @liz_scurto & her roommates who’ve made space for me to stay w/ them while we sort out what our next steps will be. I’m thankful to the @losangelesfiredepartment & @redcrossla who came out as quickly as they could to support us.

I’m thankful to @jason.woo & @zachsulak who were there in the middle of the night to help move stuff out of the house as soon as the fire dept cleared the fire.

I’m also thankful to have so many people in my life who’ve already reached out with words of encouragement.

Losing our possessions is one thing, but as many have pointed out, my roommates & I are all very fortunate to not have been hurt physically from the fire.

For me personally, the hardest part of this tragedy was losing our house pet Hamster, Appa. For those that never got the chance to meet Appa, she was notorious for her ability to seemingly always find a way to escape her cage only to be discovered hiding her food in random corners of the our rooms. She was unfortunately unable to escape when she needed to most.

We buried her outside in the garden behind the house a couple days ago. We’re going to miss her. And we’re all very hurt by the fact that’s she’s gone. But I think we can all take some solace in knowing she’s in a better place, one where she’ll always be free to roam outside of a cage.

Money won’t bring back what we lost, not really. But it can at least help us set a new path forward. If you’re willing and able to donate, we have a go-fund-me (set up by@notcolinsummers ) that I will leave a link to in my bio.

BITTERSWEET - @clintonkane

Had the opportunity to shoot this awhile back and never got around to posting it because I’m terrible at Instagram but am super proud of the final product! Our whole team put in a ton effort, from the long hours on set to the 2 months of post-production editing, we all really gave this video everything we had.

A lot of firsts on set for me as well which made things exciting! Easily the most VFX work I’ve ever had to plan for in pre-production which taught me a lot. We shot the underwater scenes in our backyard pool and used my Komodo in a water-proof housing which was terrifying but ultimately worked out really well! I also built a custom ring light to get the circling effect in Clinton’s eyes on the table scene which was fun to see come to life on set.

Overall this video was just a super great experience and am so proud and thankful to everyone on this team, you guys all are killer at what you do and I have the utmost respect for all of you!! 🙏

This past Friday I finished the 2-Year program at Panavision Hollywood. I’m beyond grateful to have had the opportunity to work at such a lovely facility with so many people I can now call family. In appreciation for my friends and mentors I thought it would be fun to highlight some incredible people I met along the way as well as some of the most memorable camera builds I encountered during my time there.
