Our film recently won Best Film 2025 at the Saturn Returns Women’s Film Festival and it means so much to be recognised by a space that celebrates women’s voices, creativity, and truth.

As a female team @emmacroftfilm as director and producer and @samantha_seager111 as actress and producer, our intention was to bring raw, real female perspectives to the screen and to have Invincible selected was an honour in itself.

It’s taken me a couple of days to know what to say… This was a special one in so many ways! To be Selected for @saturn_returns_ff felt really special, to win was an honour in so many ways! As a trans woman it feels like the ultimate level of acceptance. As a filmmaker this whole experience feels like the greatest recognition of what we achieved.

I first saw @benwilsonchewinggumman while I was living in Italy before I moved to London. In finding out more about him I kept wanting to know more about “who he is?” Feeling like there was plenty out there that explored the “how” and “why” of his work I knew the question of “who is this person?” needed to be answered and it needed to be done differently.

With being different in mind, I set out putting together a team. First was our amazing Producer @zoeroseherbert 😌 Next came our talented DoP @amaliapop_dop 🎥 after her was @_georgia_sheward_ our 2nd Cam who went above and beyond the call of duty 🏃‍♀️ then my now forever editor @therainnydaze cut together this beautiful story ✂️ the pacing was set in stone with Music and Sound by Lucie Tenet 🎶 and the bow was tied by @gldemm who gave us an incredible 5.1 mix 🔈 Together this all female and trans+ team made a short documentary about a whole person’s life. Without them and without @benwilsonchewinggumman I’d have an idea.

So, to finally share this film with the world was so special and having friends come and support it was everything. Also, it was so fun to meet other filmmakers at the festival!
