また、昨年の12名の出展作家から18名に増え、
SAMURAI FOTOから13名、姉妹グループであるサンフランシスコのBAPC（Bay area photographers collective）から5名と、
合計で18名の作家による展覧会となりました。

「私は彼女と長い夢をみる」　千代田路子

彼女は、布から花を造るアーティストだった。信仰を持ち、その作品は「愛と平和への祈り」に貫かれていた。闘病中でありながらも揺るぎなく静かな姿に心を打たれ、私は「祈りとは何か」を彼女に問いかけた。
「祈りとは神との対話。私の作品は祈りそのもの。」
彼女の祈りを知りたくて訪れた修道院で、私は彼女の回復を祈った。それは願いに過ぎなかったのかもしれない。それでも私は、彼女と共に作品を作り続け、完成を喜び合うという夢を持つこと、その希望こそが私にとっての祈りとなった。修道院の清らかな光が、私たちを祝福していた。

We are pleased to introduce the works of the participating artists.

「Dreaming with Her」Michiko Chiyoda
She was an artist who created flowers from fabric. Guided by faith, her work was devoted to prayers for love and peace. Even while battling illness, her calm and unwavering presence moved me deeply, and I asked her what prayer meant.
“Prayer is a dialogue with God. My work is prayer itself.”
Wanting to understand her prayer more deeply, I visited the monastery she spoke of and prayed for her recovery. Perhaps it was only a wish. Yet I chose to hold onto a dream—to continue creating work together and to share the joy of completion. That hope itself became my prayer. The pure light of the monastery felt as if it were quietly blessing us.

environment̶| gaze upon the colorful sea.
I am still standing at the starting point of my view.

その大波は時代を軽々と超えて私の目の前に表われる。それはまさしく、200年前に葛飾北斎をはじめとする絵師たちが見ていた大波だ。その波を見た瞬間、私は時を超えて目の前の波を彼らと共有しているかのような感覚にとらわれた。彼らもきっと私と同じように波打ち際で辛抱強く大波を待ち、その姿を食い入るように観察したに違いない。しかし彼らの表現は大波のように飛躍している。その想像力はどこから生まれたのだろうか。この作品は、あらん限りの観察力と想像力で表現に挑んだ200年前の絵師たちへのオマージュです。

「Sync」Mariko Masumoto

A great wave from the past rises before my eyes, effortlessly transcending time. It is the same wave once seen by Katsushika Hokusai and other painters two hundred years ago. When I encountered it, I felt as though I was sharing that moment with those artists across the centuries. Like me, they must have waited patiently at the water’s edge for the great waves to arrive. Yet their expressions leap far beyond the waves themselves. Where did such imagination come from?
This work is an homage to the painters of two hundred years ago who challenged the limits of expression through the full power of observation and imagination.

「Sync」Mariko Masumoto

A great wave from the past rises before my eyes, effortlessly transcending time. It is the same wave once seen by Katsushika Hokusai and other painters two hundred years ago. When I encountered it, I felt as though I was sharing that moment with those artists across the centuries. Like me, they must have waited patiently at the water’s edge for the great waves to arrive. Yet their expressions leap far beyond the waves themselves. Where did such imagination come from?
This work is an homage to the painters of two hundred years ago who challenged the limits of expression through the full power of observation and imagination.

私は空を飛ぶことを夢見ていました。その届かぬ憧れを抱え辿り着いた北海道鶴居の雪原で彼らに出会いました。静寂の中を柔らかな光を浴びて舞うタンチョウ。神秘的な空気の中で繰り返されるその飛翔は、自然が瞬間的に創り出す優しさと過酷な大地を生き抜く強さに満ちていました。彼らが教えてくれたのは過去への執着ではなく今を生きるということ。その美しさや閃きから真っ白な雪原の先へと続く未来への道を飛翔するかのように前向きに力強く進むことの大切さでした。

「Winter Weather」　Hitoshi Sato　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　

I once dreamed of flying. Carrying that unreachable longing, I eventually encountered them in the snowy fields of Tsurui in Hokkaido.
Red-crowned cranes danced in the silence, bathed in soft light. Their repeated flights within that mystical atmosphere were filled with both the gentleness of nature’s fleeting moments and the strength required to survive in a harsh land.
They taught me not to cling to the past, but to live fully in the present.
Their beauty and inspiration showed me the importance of moving forward—like soaring toward a future that stretches beyond the white snowfields.

Advances in information technology have made it easier than ever to share our opinions with the world. At the same time, we are increasingly confronted with many different perspectives.　In such a situation, I believe it is important to try to understand others and avoid conflict.
In our daily lives and traditions, we often express gratitude to our ancestors and those close to us. I believe this sense of gratitude can also extend beyond our immediate circle to the wider world.
Through my work, I hope to show that even small acts of gratitude can deepen understanding and contribute to a more peaceful world.
