Quando ero bambino il mio corpo creava molta confusione. La gente, miei coetanei ma anche adulti, mi fermava per strada per chiedermi se ero un ragazzo o una ragazza, faceva commenti ad alta voce e scommesse sul mio genere. Il mio corpo era un tiro al bersaglio pubblico.
A sei anni mi sono tagliato da solo i capelli con delle forbici a punta arrotondata, perché mia madre non voleva che li tagliassi corti.
A diciotto anni li ho rasati a zero per poter ricominciare.
Ora, dopo più di dieci anni da uomo transessuale, mi sono fatto crescere di nuovo i capelli perché non ho più paura di essere scambiato per una donna. Non ci vedrei niente di male. Oggi quando indosso la mascherina chirurgica la gente mi fa di nuovo misgendering, mi chiede se sono un uomo, mi chiama signorina. Ora mi ci rido su e penso a quanto sono fortunato ad aver ripreso possesso non solo del mio corpo ma della persona che lo abita.
Sono consapevole del privilegio sociale che ho ora, essendo un uomo, ma non voglio incarnare i tratti che la società si aspetta da me per questo. Voglio riscrivere la mascolinità in una nuova versione mutata, poiché io stesso sono un mutante: una che porti pace e equità, che rispetti gli altri e custodisca la fragilità, che superi i confini del genere e valuti tutti allo stesso modo, che parli per coloro che non possono o non sono ascoltati.
Oggi ho messo per la prima volta lo smalto alle unghie e ne sono fiero. 💙

Il 30 aprile a Villa Simonetta, Samuele Galli torna dal Canada per provare a rispondere a queste domande.
👉🏻🏳️⚧️Attore transgender e attivista, ha condiviso il suo percorso anche al TEDx Verbania, muovendosi tra esperienza personale e pratica artistica.

Quando ero piccolo pensavo che ci fosse un essere bambini e poi un essere adulti. Che ogni persona fosse monolitica, che potesse essere solo quello che era in quel momento.
Ho capito solo dopo che siamo costantemente tutte quelle persone, che viaggiamo nel tempo di continuo senza poter cambiare nulla se non la nostra prospettiva su ciò che siamo stati. Tutto quello che conta è: cosa faremo di questa prospettiva per quelli che saremo domani?
Buon compleanno dolce bambino mio.
