Exactly a year ago, I shot my first self-portrait series for my 26th birthday during jaw surgery post-op recovery. For 6 weeks straight, I was stuck at home on full liquid diet and could barely articulate a sentence. Those were some of the toughest days but being in almost complete solitude had only made me more intuitive, introspective, and observant of the world around me that constantly inspires me to create. Even when it meant styling myself when my body felt uncomfortable and doing my own make up when my face was swollen. I love fashion and I always believe that good fashion is about self-expression, the people, the stories, hours and hours of labor and care before it is ever about the clothes and the glam.
I turn 27 today, I have only become more grateful for my able body and mind that allow me to express my world through fashion image making. Creating is how we connect humanly, more important than ever. I’m so grateful to be alive doing what I love. xx

The project explores queer coming-of-age in the era of digital evolution. For a generation of queer youth in the early 2000s, identity wasn’t always found and realized on the school playground, but rather finding sanctuary in front of the glowing desktop screen. Artistic exchanges with strangers on the internet felt deeply vulnerable and intimate expressed through the click of the enter button and sending a Tumblr post into the ether. The unique experience of practicing such intimate ritual feels both isolating yet empowering at times, it feels like a dream of becoming a popstar. But it also forms the collective identity of one of the most artistically expressive generation for years to come. To be in “soft wear” is to honor the existence and memories of digital spaces that allow us to express ourselves unapologetically.
