Founder of TWS – The Home of Hip Hop, he has represented Belgium on some of the world’s biggest stages with Team Shmetta. As an international judge and coach, he travels worldwide sharing his unique concepts and training methods rooted in culture, foundation, and creative concepts. He is known for developing dancers not only technically, but mentally and artistically. Over the years, he has helped guide the next generation of Belgian talent onto the world stage, including 9000 Styles, Style Invaders, and the Belgium Olympic Team. As a judge and teacher, he brings experience, vision, and a deep commitment to elevating Hip Hop culture at the highest level.

About the workshop:

Sam is a professional breaking coach with more than 20 years of experience, diving deep into transitions and creative concepts. Through his signature methods, he helps dancers create freedom in their movement, explore new ways of moving, and build stronger connections within their breaking His workshops focus on developing individuality and creating new signatures. With extensive experience and tons of passion for teaching, he challenges and inspires dancers all over the world.

4 day intensive in Romania 🇷🇴

I got invited by @theyounghustlerbsc & @concretespot to coach the next generation in Cluj-napoca.

We worked on transitions, hidden techniques & creative concepts. Beautiful to see two separate organizations joining forces to make it happen and fly me out.

First time in Romania, to be honest: hospitality & organization on point! I got to share 4 days with hungry and openminded dancers. Keep an eye open for @burningsoulscrew 👀 Young guns guided by @theyounghustlerbsc 🔥

Also a massive shoutout to the whole @concretespot for being such a warm & welcoming community ❤️

This summer, Tictac Art Centre welcomes three influential figures from the hip-hop world: Sam De Waele, Serouj « Midus » Aprahamian, and Bruce Ykanji.
Each will offer unique workshops and masterclasses designed to bring urban and contemporary dancers together through shared movement and improvisation.

June 17/19– Sam De Waele leads two masterclasses exploring breaking: rhythm, ground flow, and the raw joy of freestyle.

July 28 till 1 – Midus dives into threading, a detailed and fluid movement style blending hip-hop and contemporary influences.

August 18.19.20– Bruce Ykanji, founder of Juste Debout, joins us for three masterclasses during our Anniversary Week, focusing on freestyle, musicality, and the soul of street dance.

Whether you come from contemporary or street styles, this is a space for growth, dialogue, and exchange.
