Ektachrome brought a certain type of color intensity and sharpness to the photos. This series has started my own exploration of what my “female gaze” brings to the way I choose to frame and capture those around me and I’m curious to keep exploring it.

The most amazing part of this experience was the people and their contagious love for the craft! The way these guys were able to enjoy themselves, have fun, and just be present in the moment was so incredibly inspiring! The conversations, the connections, and getting to watch these amazing photographers do their thing made my own approach to photography different! Thankkkk you all for being absolute legends! In February I got the chance to go to Seattle, to the coolest instant film gathering to play around with different cameras, film, mix some chemicals and constantly knock my head on something in pitch-black darkrooms. The most amazing part of this experience was the people and their contagious love for the craft! The way these guys were able to enjoy themselves, have fun, and just be present in the moment was so incredibly inspiring! The conversations, the connections, and getting to watch these amazing photographers do their thing made my own approach to photography different! Thankkkk you all for being absolute legends! Sofija nació y creció en Lituania, y ahí es donde empezó su historia de amor con la fotografía analógica. Después de muchos viajes, encontró su hogar en Granada y encontró su estilo como fotógrafa. El concepto de su exposición en Noat, “THE 3”, incorpora diferentes formatos de fotografía analógica (polaroid, película instantánea y fotografía en 35 mm y formato medio) y explora la estructura de las historias. Cada aventura, cada vínculo tiene un inicio, un desarrollo y un final. ¿En qué paso estás tú?

Sofija was born and raised in Lithuania, where her love affair with analog photography began. After years of traveling, she found her home in Granada, where she solidified her style as a photographer. Her exhibition at Noat, “THE 3”, brings together different analog formats (Polaroid, instant peel-apart film, and 35mm & medium format photography) and explores the structure of storytelling. Every adventure, every connection has a beginning, a middle, and an end. Which stage of the journey are you in?

Nací y crecí en Lituania, pero acabé en el sur de España, el lugar que ahora llamo casa y que sin duda ha influenciado mi estilo fotográfico. Me enamoré de la fotografía analógica porque detenía el tiempo para mí. En un mundo donde todo se mueve tan rápido, crear arte a través de este medio me permite estar presente y conectada. Durante más de 15 años ha sido así: todas mis imágenes son momentos en el tiempo, inmortalizados y vividos con intención. Ha sido el romance más gratificante de mi vida.
Trabajo exclusivamente con fotografía analógica y me inspiro en el mundo que me rodea. Principalmente colaboro con artistas y músicos para dar vida a sus ideas visuales —desde portadas de álbumes hasta creación de contenido— mientras también desarrollo mis propias impresiones de arte.
