Watching this solar substorm pulse the aurora above my head at 1am in the arctic circle was nothing shy of a miracle. Chasing aurora and scenic vistas on this Lofoten Islands trip has tested my patience and endurance, but it’s moments like this that make the sleep deprivation worth every second of effort and intense arctic temps. Overhead, myself, @jonhuynh1, and @ryanpramos watched this aurora build as our timelapse cameras rolled.
