I used the Rust-Oleum Countertop Coating Kit in “Ultra White” (untinted) as the base and “Smoke” to do my faux marble veining. The best part? Everything you need to makeover your counters comes in one box. Couldn’t be easier than that!

If you’ve ever ripped something off drywall and been greeted by fuzzy torn paper, you already know the pain.

The mistake most people make is going straight to compound. But unless you seal that damaged paper first with a solvent-based primer, the moisture from the mud can reactivate the damage underneath and create even MORE bubbling and peeling.

So the process is:
Scrape it.
PRIME it (solvent based is best!)
Patch it.
Sand it.
Paint it.

AD |This teeny tiny room tells such an amazing story now, and the main character is absolutely the paint by @rustoleumca. In this space I used:

- Sure Colour Interior Paint & Primer in Bubble Bath Blue (stripes & bookcase interior)
- Sure Colour Interior Paint & Primer in Stellar Navy (ceiling, bookcase exterior, shelf ledges, and magnet board topcoat)
- Zinsser BIN Shellac Primer to prime the bookcase, a must if painting melamine furniture
- Magnetic Primer, literal magic!

This little nook has seen many lives and always felt like a waste of space, but now it has a true purpose and big personality and I’m SO happy with it. Isaac loves it and constantly talks about his “hockey playroom”.

I have major beef with whoever designed this kitchen because it’s so hard to clean. Oh wait, it’s me. I’m the person who did this and as a result I’m going to marinate my entire kitchen in @rustoleumca Mean Green Refillable Multi-Purpose Cleaner.

My mother was right.

Why did I choose a narrow-beveled edge for my kitchen cabinets? It will literally be the end of me. Did I mention the exposed vent hood is a dust magnet especially with all the grease acting as the perfect glue? Oh, and of course I was super practical when I chose to hang something behind the backsplash.

... Or, when I picked a white sink along with these groovy white sink baskets.

Thankfully Mean Green Refillable Cleaners lasts four times longer. Instead of buying a new bottle, all you need to do is refill it with tap water, and we’re off to the races! Running out of cleaner before the job’s done isn’t a worry, All in the name of aesthetics.

I also need to mention that the Mean Green Refillable Bathroom Cleaner smells great as well! I cleaned my bathrooms (which is a whole other story) and can only describe the smell as a tropical escape.

Mother’s Day, but make it garden 🪴

All you need are wooden spoons! Use ones you already have at home, or if you need, you can pick some up from dollar store or a thrift shop. For paint, I’ve been using @rustoleumca LOW-ODOUR collection, which I’ve loved since my previous DIYs. It barely smells (no strong spray paint scent at all!!), has the prettiest matte finish, and the colors are just so beautiful! (Colors I used are listed below) Add a little extra detail with paint, then seal everything with a @rustoleumca clear top coat, so they can live outside as garden markers. I wrapped mine with some seeds for a sweet little touch. Such a perfect handmade gift for Mother’s Day 🌿

#ad I knew this set had good bones and as soon as I picked it up I knew it was cast iron, too!The pink was not quite for me so I decided to give it a quick little makeover! There was a little rust poking through the pink spray paint so I used a wire brush to get the loose stuff off, and I used Tremclad Rust Inhibiting Primer.Next I grabbed a can of Rust-Oleum Painter’s Touch 2X Interior/Exterior Custom 5-in-1 Spray Dial Spray Paint in Matte Black.The 5 in 1 dial allows you to control the spray pattern and the output to best suit your project!They have a low, medium and high output, a wide fan and a vertical and horizontal fan.I used the low output setting for this detailed scrolly table.

I found a sintered stone top on Amazon that looks a lot like marble, but it’s more durable and great for outdoors.After adding a couple of cushions to the chairs, this set is unrecognizable from the before!

I had a hard time deciding between black and white, do you think black was the right choice?
