Ruben Angelo Spelta (b. 1995) is an Italian-Colombian artist based in Milan. His process is rooted in chance, often beginning with random online searches that spark unexpected narratives reflecting his inner world. Over time, he has merged diverse techniques into a single visual language, combining oil, acrylic, airbrush, enamel, and encaustic.
Spelta also explores the concept of “negativity,” using photographic negatives to reveal hidden meanings, visible only through a phone screen, turning the device into an extension of the viewer’s body and offering a new, interactive way to experience his work.
