The question is, have we progressed or regressed as a society since then. I think we all know the answer...

We congratulate the three artists as well as all the participating artists for sharing compelling stories and perspectives.

It was my honour to be photographed by the magnificent @rontimehin. These are just some of the images from what was a very special afternoon in which I felt witnessed at this moment with an intimacy I find so rare, and a gift that only the best photographers can give.
Thank you @rontimehin and thank you @afshaartistry for the way in which you held our day together. Thank you both for your art and thank you for your hearts.
Thank you as always @thesoulstylist__ for styling, and the journey of embodiment weβre on.

Incredibly proud to share that my work has been shortlisted for the Sony World Photography Awards β and that my images will be on display at Somerset House from 17 April until 4 May 2026. π
The series centres on Labadi (La), a Ga community on Accraβs coast. Working with the residents of Kaklamadu, I made portraits on the landing beach and in improvised studios. Boats, nets, a horse, flags becoming shared symbols between us.
The work moves between staged tableaux and quiet observation: boys playing, workers at rest, friends leaning on each other. Itβs an invitation to connect with this community on their own terms, with dignity, intimacy, and self-assurance at the centre.
Thank you to everyone at @myrunwaygroup for producing this project, and most of all to the residents of Kaklamadu, whose generosity and openness made it everything it is.

I first collaborated with @david_fadd for a joint feature in @wonderland magazine and @adobe back in 2021.
Who would have known that five years later our paths would keep crossing and that one day, weβd be creating together?
Here are a few images we created recently in my studio @28sunbury.

Favela Brass, Rio de Janeiro. (Part Two) πΊ
This final set of images continues my time documenting Favela Brass. What began with just a handful of students has grown into a space where young musicians learn, rehearse and perform together, including taking part in Rio Carnival each year.
Photographing these students across the neighbourhood allowed me to see how deeply the school is connected to daily life.
Returning to a music-led environment felt deeply personal. Having grown up playing trumpet, I understand how learning an instrument can shape confidence, discipline and belonging. Seeing these students support each other and develop their voices through music was genuinely inspiring!
I put together a small team and spent time listening, observing and making portraits that reflect both the individuals and the community that supports them.
My sincere thanks to @tomashejazz, @Favela_Brass, lighting assistant @a.l.fontes, and guide @danielzsul for helping make this project possible.
And a special thanks to @gaellelanicoise and @wmowbray for the extra support and great energy throughout.
Thank you to the students and teachers for the trust and warmth you shared with us ππΎ.
Please head over to the @favela_brass Instagram and website and show them some love! π«Άπ½
