“STEP IN TIME”

A book featuring extended interviews & stills from archive VHS tapes never seen before. This is the story of Kenny King aka “Sting”.

Founder of Telepathy, Life Utopia, New Jack City, and countless other milestone raves in 90s London and beyond. Sting ran the Stratford Rex and managed Deja Vu FM - a key player in the UK garage scene, as well as hosting infamous grime clashes in the 00s.

Alongside an index of archive flyers, the book features quotes from Andy C, DJ Hype, M-Beat, Funk Butcher and DJ Pioneer as well as the artists Pez and Junior Tomlin who helped create the visual identity to the raves.

Ron’s career started as a DJ with the sound system TNT, later touring with Rebel MC, before discovering acid house and breaks to then become a pivotal figure in the jungle scene.

Today, as well as bringing through new talent he’s a prolific documentarian of his musical peers. Better placed than most to ask the right questions…
