D-50 | It’s completely free to enter, with live music and performances throughout the weekend. So follow @jungfestival.uk for updates.

JUNG Festival will be the first Korean food festival happening in Central London.

@market.root and I wanted to bring a Korean food festival to the centre of London so Londoners can easily access it, and there was only one place we had in mind, @kingscrossn1c.

Not only is it one of the most convenient transport hubs in the city, it’s also home to global brands like the @samsunguk flagship store. After months of emails and meetings, we’re excited to say that the festival will take place at @canopy_market 🥰

Canopy Market is still an outdoor space, but it has a roof which makes it perfect for London’s unpredictable weather.

We’re working hard to bring as many diverse Korean dishes as possible, and for those asking about halal options, we’ll do our best to make sure there are plenty available ♥️

If you are looking for a unique thing to do in London with a date, I think this is perfect 🐟

⚡️Supermarket of Dreams ⚡️ in Notting Hill is a small boutique supermarket. But after it closes, it turns into a sushi restaurant. And every Saturday they do a special event called 🐟Tuna Fight🐟

Tuna Fight is where customers get to see how the master chefs butcher and prepare the tuna to eat. They also serve tasting menu with the tuna they butchered.

But the best part is that you can actually scoop the meat of the tuna from it’s rib which is one of a kind experience.

Chef’s table @guirongwei and I were having breakfast few month ago and she offered to go for lunch there together cause she says it’s the best Hunanese restaurant.

I couldn’t go with her that day, so I went separately. Although it was my first time trying Hunanese food, it was so comforting with a nice kick, it made want to visit the city ❤️

I realized there is also a lot more Hunanese restaurants in London, and which one is your favourite?

Did @keiryian really say he doesn’t like my current favourite restaurant?! 🤯

It’s been exactly a week since our festival, and we were hibernating, but the weather was so good on Saturday so we went out ❤️ Ryan didn’t want to make a video, but I was itching so he was forced lol

We went to @sanhao.ldn , my new favourite restaurant ❤️ cause I need to try all their noodles 🍜

How was your weekend?

Thank you to our traders first. The small restaurants and small brands who worked day and night, who slept thirty minutes a day in the back of a cab and went straight back to prep for the next service. Bringing the whole family along to make sure we delivered for the people. You carried this on your backs. None of this happens without you.

To the Canopy Market team, who fought for us till the very end to make sure Jung could stay open. This festival would not have even existed without you. Our festival is finished, but please go and visit our amazing traders at Canopy Market on the weekends. From rice guys to tacos, oysters, and our amazing bartenders. They made Jung festival even more special.

And to everyone who came down for Jung and couldn’t get in, we are so sorry. We want you to know we fought for you. We pushed back with the health and safety team on the ground, told them people had travelled from Scotland, from Germany, just to be here. But at the end of the day, the very first priority had to be everybody’s safety, and that is a call we understood even when it broke our hearts.

And honestly, to the health and safety team. We know we drove them mad this weekend, asking questions, pushing back, asking again. Thank you for putting up with us. They kept our guests safe. They kept our traders safe. They kept us safe. We can stand here today, exhausted but proud, because of the work they did behind the scenes that nobody saw. That mattered more than anything else, and we will not forget it.

Next time we are moving to a bigger space. We are putting a proper accessibility system in place. And we are running a ticketed event from the start.

This has been one of the most difficult and extraordinary experiences of my life. And the one thing nobody can take from us is that Jung Festival did Korea proud.

We want to thank everyone who showed up today even though it was so hot ♥️

Our team is so grateful that this many people turned out for our first festival, and to everyone who came up to us and showed love towards Korean food and culture.

We honestly thought yesterday’s comments would have slowed people down a bit (although we were sad some people didn’t have a positive experience) but somehow more of you showed up than yesterday. Even Canopy Market didn’t expect this kind of turnout.
One of the biggest concerns we heard today was that the queues got out of control. In that heat, that wasn’t safe, and Canopy Market and Jung Festival prioritize your safety the most. We want everyone to have the best experience, not a stressful day.

So after a long long long conversation, we are moving Sunday and Monday to a FREE ticketed event (STILL FREE). You just need to book a time slot through the link in our bio so we can manage the flow at the door.

And the Culture Hub at The Crossing stays open with no tickets and no queues. You can still walk in and explore anytime.

I know it is very late at night and we just decided this now and we wanted to push it live before it is too late. Link in our bio ♥️
