this was the most incredible way to spend a morning in Hyderabad and utilize my uncles’s abandoned shed 😅 shot exactly a year ago but finally got around to edit. inspired by all the films I grew up watching.

I shot this for fun over a year ago but something you probably didn’t realize while watching this because it is so abstract

so if you split the frame in half, all the shots before I enter, my grandparents are on opposite sides of the frame or in separate shots. But the moment I enter, they are standing together on the same side…when they greet me at the door, at the dinner table, and finally when they say goodbye and it slowly fades into their 2 glasses together. This was my abstract way of showing how they often bicker and argue but the moment one of their kids/or grandkids show up they come together and just try to make their kids feel at home.

I also filmed this 2 years ago but before I begin work on my first movie, I’ve been trying to go through old projects I never edited which led me to fall in love with how abstract i used to be with some concepts. As overly abstract as it is, i do like to think putting effort in the unnoticed still pays off…there is this indescribable honesty that you can feel that I feel like carries over into the parts that people do notice

making a movie feels so overwhelming but doing this series has forced me to think about each step of the process more deeply.

made me realize how much of the process can actually speed up when you look within…

because I guess its not about finding your best idea but understanding what seems to be connecting all your ideas…connecting all of your life…What’s the theme?

inspiration

to be honest I get scared of inspiration

there’s so much input around us and there’s so many things that can be made into a movie. How does one even choose?

but maybe we don’t have to choose?

maybe we should just lean more into what we are naturally drawn to. No matter how many ideas ran through my head, I started realizing the element of love and comedy was important to me in all of it

we are what we think
so I’m hoping leaning more into this will help me shape a story (and hopefully quick) because I have 345 ish days left to make this romcom 🤠💌
