The official poster for “The Featherweight” - only in theaters - opens Sept 20th at the Quad Cinema in NYC / Sept 27th at Laemmle Monica in Los Angeles. Playing regionally on the east coast, check your local listenings.

Poster designed by the great @hydesister, who is simply an icon of aesthetics. I have been obsessed with cinema poster design my entire life and if you’ve been following along with DIY festival designs I’ve been doing for The Featherweight, you know it means the world to me. Collaborating with Drusilla was truly a dream come true. You can see the traces of cinematic history, 1960’s and 70’s crime and art house aesthetic and just a general reverence for images in motion pictures.

Come see THE FEATHERWEIGHT in theaters!

Coming soon to theaters!

Excited to finally share the trailer to my film The Featherweight, which will be in theaters in September! Thank you all for your support on getting this made and out there, it means the world.

Watch the official trailer for The Featherweight, starring James Madio in a career-best performance as the legendary two-time World Champ Willie Pep.

Opening in theaters in NYC and across Pep’s home state of Connecticut September 20 and in Los Angeles on September 27.

Set in the mid-1960s in Hartford, Connecticut, THE FEATHERWEIGHT presents a gripping chapter in the true-life story of Italian-American boxer Willie Pep – the winningest fighter of all time – who, down and out in his mid-40s with his personal life in shambles, decides to make a return to the ring.

I had the honor of creating four short films to be used as the bumpers at @truefalsefilmfest this year. T/F is the greatest nonfiction film festival in the world and one very close to my heart, so I wanted to create something really special. What I came up with were four partially intersecting visual poems that represent four facets of my personal cinematic fascinations and passions.

Thank you to @ragtagcinema @andrealuquekaram for allowing me the platform, @yanceford for the brilliant programming, @prewarcinema for boosting me up, @_phlegm_fatale_ for a wonderful performance and @yaybennett for your eyes, patience, heart and willingness to accept my tinkering.

Presented here in the original order they screened:

1) “Cartography” - Animation made from hand cut paper figures from an antiquarian anatomy book and a series of maps, with words by Man Ray.

2) “Field Recordings” - Narrative short about a sound recordist’s process and her reverence for capturing sounds. Starring Ruby Wolf as Effie Meyers.

3) “Escape Artist” - Self reflexive nonfiction about my fascination with Harry Houdini and how it realities to my own sleight of hand filmmaking process.

4) “The Time Step” - Portrait of my grandmother Estelle, crafted from hand scanned 8mm familial archival and # my personal digital archive.

5) 2026 True/False Film Festival program, page 77

Quite proud that @talkhouse has published my essay “David Lynch and I: Involved in a Mystery” which tracks my relationship with the great magician of cinema, the estate auction of his personal effects, my idiosyncratic process of fascination-based archiving, memento mori and living the art life.

Link to article in bio.

In this series of images you see visitations to the gravesides of Chantal Akerman, Anna Karina, François Truffaut, Harry Houdini and David Lynch.

There is also an image of the small workshed in my parents frozen backyard where @adamkolodnydp and I first watched a bootleg of Eraserhead on a small CRT television - and an image of weeds i@pulled from the soft earth of Lynch’s grave, now interred in a glass vile on my writing desk.

Thank you @yaybennett and @prewarcinema for your reads, @adamkolodnydp for your photography, @yaybennett and @_phlegm_fatale_ for walking throughendless cemeteries with me- and most of all thank you David Lynch for your cinema. Night Blooming Jasmine.

“Henry Miller’s Paris” a new motion picture short by Robert Kolodny - official trailer and poster. A few years ago, a group of artists and poets traveled to Paris with @henrymillerlib to retrace the steps of the American author, Henry Miller. Filmmakers @yaybennett and Robert Kolodny documented the journey and created this nonfiction portrait of the writer and the lasting echo his work has had on literature.

The film will premiere Friday, October 17th at 5pm at the Henry Miller in the 21st Century conference at @visitasilomar in Pacific Grove, CA - just up the coast from Henry Miller Memorial Library in Big Sur. @yaybennett and @robertkolodny will be in attendance for a Q&A after the film.
