Le Festival Jazz à Cortot (28-29 avril, Salle Cortot) a le plaisir d’accueillir deux musiciens émérites autour du duo piano-basse: « Conversations » par Joe Sanders (basse) et Rob Clearfield (piano). Leur parcours artistique, qui s’étend de Milwaukee à Chicago, puis aujourd’hui à la France, reflète une collaboration de longue date fondée à la fois sur une maîtrise technique et une affinité personnelle. @joesandersbass @robclearfield

Le programme mettra en valeur la palette expressive du duo, des passages lyriques et introspectifs aux improvisations rythmées. À travers leur dialogue musical de longue date, Joe Sanders et Rob Clearflied invitent le public à une exploration réfléchie de l’harmonie, de l’interaction et de la forme dans la performance jazz contemporaine.

Joe Sanders est depuis cette année professeur de basse au département de jazz de l’École Normale de Musique de Paris, sous l’impulsion duquel est lancé le tout nouveau Festival Jazz à Cortot.

I’m excited to present new music with this group at ProMusica in Chicago on June 6. Brian Blade will be on drums, Marquis Hill on trumpet, Geof Bradfield on woodwinds, Rob Clearfield on keys and Dave Miller on guitar. Doors are at 7 and we play one set at 8. We hope to see you. "The show was extremely fun and meaningful on many levels. Being back on stage with @jimpactsmash, @lesliehunt, and Jonathan, playing some of the old songs brought back a lot of memories. If there was any doubt that we had buried the hatchet following the turbulence of my departure from the group, I would say that the remnants of the hatchet were incinerated on stage."
