Initiated by her grandma’s wardrobe, Leanne draws from her surrounding spaces and nostalgic experiences to explore the connection between Fashion and Diaspora. Her masters project combines clothing, objects, and text to propose an experimental body of performative and transformative work, challenging the current traditional fashion design contexts, value, and function. Guided by individual and shared diaspora stories, Leanne creates pieces that express both familiarity and unfamiliarity.
